    Why so many ducks???

We used this hotel with my boyfriend as a gift for our anniversary using a Groupon voucher. It was the worst experience of my life. Catching a bronchitis with fever and mycosis using the spa facilities. I do not recommend this hotel: With regards to the: 1) Spa facilities at the Veleda: - No changing room indication as such - Both MEN AND WOMEN had to use the only toilets - No lock available to close the lockers - Spa furniture in ok state - No conformity of the swimming pool temperature as advertised at (+/- 28*C) 2) Breakfast at the Veleda: - Kingdom of discount and cheap products - no individual portion and everything was a bulk - Bulk piece of bread to cut yourself and put in a saucer - Hot beverages/hot water from the machine, tea bags available - small size of the plastic trays - No air conditioning available - DUCK LOVERS - This is your castle... The voice is yours..

Beautiful Mountain, Nice Hotel, Wonderful Food, Friendly Staff

I feel so sorry for the people disappointed by their stay here, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night off season stay. The mountain is beautiful (even in the fog and rain), the hotel (Welleda) is nice with a relaxing athmosphere, the spa is welcoming, the breakfast buffet is amazing, the food is wonderful, the staff very friendly, the owner very accessible and one of the hardest working owners I have ever seen. Book your massage/remodelage early, as those magical fingers and lotions are in high demand. Do not miss the hike up the Grand Donon, a place revered by ancient Celts, Romans and others. Learn some of the local history and you won't look at the cemetary with the disdain shown by a previous guest. And if the TV remote is difficult to navigate, that might be a signal for you to disconnect and hug/kiss your partner! Call/email the hotel directly to find out the packages they offer, especially those including the massage/remodelage, before booking the offers found online.

The Happy Sharing Company exploring France

Summertimes in Alsace takes the opportunity to visit the Col du Donon and the little town of St Quirin after a great lunch at Velleda. Benefit from an unlimited barbecue garden party for a reasonable price or prefer the wooden interior and its traditional meals at the Velleda. Either, Or the cooks talents are great and do offer great value for the price. From a salad to a Choucroute as main dish you won't get disappointed by the delicious tastes. The service was a bit slow to the crowd on a sunny August sunday but I enjoyed the setting and quality of the meals and the handicap friendly environment as a 90+ was also delighted with the poached egg salad and the foie gras poêlé. Klevener and Marc de Gewurtztraminer on top to make it all slide smoothly like a wannaby...What else ? Expresso was perfect to close the experience prior a walk in the hills and villages discovery. A beautiful hotel in stunning countryside

I have 4 stars rather than 5 stars because it is on a busy road on which heavy lorries travel in the early morning making sleep beyond 6 am quite difficult if you want to leave the window open even in April. The beers was good, dinner excellent as was breakfast. It is, however, quite pricey over 200 GBP for two people sharing a room, drinking a beer or two, a bottle of wine, excellent dinner and breakfast.

If you are thirsty, don't bother to ask for water!

I just came down from the mountain in the afternoon of a hot summer day, I was very thirsty and heated from the effort (you know the feeling) and I needed badly something refreshing. So, I went to the bar inside the hotel and asked for a bottle of very cold water. The lady at the bar asked me if I was seated at a table on the terace and I answered, obviously, no. From that moment, she lost her smile and told me that she cannot sell me a bottle of water because the bottles were "assigned" to the tables of the restaurant. I couldn't believe my ears! I repeated my question (and I speak french very well and pretty understandable), thinking that I misunderstood her. But no, she repeated that she cannot sell me water and also didn't even offered me some tap water with some ice, as an alternative. Not even that! Well folks, that is an example of quality service from France. I had to drive 10 km to find a little shop were I bought 2 liters of cold, bottled water that I consumed in the next 15 minutes. So, I don't care to much about rooms, landscape, etc. , I care about people and how they behave. Now, you have an idea of what kind of people you will meet at Logis Hotel Le Velleda.
