StopoverWe chose the Hotel because it had a lift! This was a modern Hotel 40 years ago and not much has changed. The bedroom we were allocated had had an update to the bathroom but the double bed was small. The alternative was twin beds that was located about a mile away from the only lift and its bathroom was from the dark ages. The only outcome post showering was to wade through the puddles. A lovely view from the window of the River. The food was moderate and we were glad when it was over.

SOE commemoration at the MoulinWe have been three times to stay at this hotel for the SOE ceremony in the town. This visit was the best! We had a very comfortable room overlooking the Chateau which was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The hotel has very helpful staff and a pleasant bar and dining room. The food is very good although the breakfasts are rather basic. In fact this year we had lunch at the Chateau which was nothing like as good as the Moulin. It is very good value for money! We have already booked for next year.

Room fine, restaurant--oh well, read on!We did not use the spa facilities, which appear to be an attraction, nor do we have complaints about our room. *However,* the restaurant takes my overall assessment down a notch or two: our two main courses simply were not what they were billed as: neither was the veal filet mignon veal or 'mignon,' nor was the trout a trout, but a (somewhat dry) piece of boneless salmon. It would have not have been more than just correct for the waiter to point this out and perhaps suggest alternatives. The cheese selection for dessert was great, however,

Good but there is betterI went to this hotel with my sister for a week-end at the Zoo of Beauval, the beds are comfy but the room was not exactly what i asked.. the receptionniste that did my reservation didn't see what I wrote and didn't put us in a room with a view... we where on the ground floor with a view of a tree... tje good point is that we had the pool and jacuzzi to ourselves, we realised that at that time we were the youngest ones there haha... I'de like to say a special thanks to the chef that was willing to cook something else for my sister since she doesn't eat pork but his propositions were veal or fish which she doesn't eat either so we went and had pizza haha, and another thanks to the night watchman who was very nice with us we had a lovely conversation with him. Love from Ariane and Zoé that stayed in room 125.

Disappointingly PoorWe were very disappointed with this hotel which failed to reach the standard we expected from their website. The standard of the room was poor. The double bed was tiny, the bath was the size of a large sink and it had a hand held shower - I cannot recall the last hotel I stayed in where I had to hold the shower head - I think it was during my travels in Eastern Europe during the Soviet times. The only option available that evening in the restaurant was a local dish so we wisely decided to eat somewhere else. We later heard from others that the restaurant was without staff at least until 30 minutes after it was due to open. Check out time is 1000 and when we asked for a an extension to 1100 (we were attending a function locally) we were rudely told by this was not possible and we should vacate our room immediately. We fortunately stayed the following evening in the Villa da Vinci which proved to be a far better place to lodge.
