  Worth a visit

  We visited for dinner, the food and wine was good. The place seems popular and the service both courteous well carried out. It maybe best to book. Aubusson has a few good restaurants and this is one of them.

  Very worth visiting

  I simply dropped in for coffee with a friend, thought they might mind as it is a restaurant but they were very courteous and helpful, one of the waiters didn't speak much English and apologized, so we said we should apologize as our French isn't as fluent as it should be, after all we are in France and he told us that is so nice, apparently he had some not so nice tourists... I'll definitely will be back and try their food, since all my friends told me it is spectacular

  Work trip

  Stayed for 3 nights and I was very pleased and satisfied! Very friendly and helpful staff and very clean (rooms are cleaned every day)! The only negative is that there is not a lot of variety in breakfast. Also not everyone speaks fluent English, but still very willing to help!

  Resting on it's laurels

  Nothing here was very good for our dinner bed and breakfast stay, except the breakfast choice ( ...despite no-one at all greeting and explaining to us)....but then our reception was cold, as was our departure. The restaurant meal was unusually traditional... ok .but again typified by an assiette de fromage seemingly straight from the supermarket bargain counter. To sum up, outside the lift door in the main lobby there resided a large linen trolley, apparently living up against the side of the lift door...however this did not spoil the view of a dirty empty fish tank, and other bits and pieces...artistically placed opposite. This was our experience of the 'approach' of this place, no-one with eyes open keeping the place honed, positive and up to date. Then they might go mad and put somewhere (anywhere...a drawer....a shelf.....) in the room to put non hang-up clothes, you can't get more 21st century than that!.

  Definitely worth another visit!

  I went to the Hitel de France on 17th November, it was taking part in the 2 for 1 week. For a week restaurants, hotels etc can participate in this deal, and it's a really good way to try some where new at an excellent price. The menu was for three courses, and there was an aperitif before the entree, and another small 'taster' between the entree and the plat, on this occasion it was a small glass with apple purée and chataigne liqueur, which was wonderful. The meal was excellent, and so was the wine! The staff were attentive but not hovering around, and the chef came out to ask if everything was good. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant and relaxing, and the hotel was quite traditional, which is what we like. I'm pretty sure that staying in the hotel would be a really good experience,sadly we don't live far enough away to make that necessary, but I could be tempted! Will be be going back, most definitely, it's a good hours drive from us, but definitely worth the trip.
