Excellent food and wine listI spent 2 nights here during February. The rooms are very typical of this kind of French hotel. Good, simple facilities with the usual odd decor. Corridors a bit dingy with lights on timers which went off too quickly. However, the food was excellent and the service very helpful and friendly, if a little slow. We had a set meal each night (with 3 colleagues) and we were all very impressed. The wine list was extensive, with good wines but not low cost. Overall good value for money.

Mixed feelings about this placeThis one is a tough one to review... My wife and I bought a groupon voucher while we were still in South Africa (back in June 2016, which is a year ago) and we proceeded by contacting them. Unfortunately they were closed in August for their annual holidays and yet their phone did not have a message so I remember staying on the phone for over 30 minutes listening to a message saying that someone will pick up on several attempts. Finally, in the beginning of Sept 2016, I got through to them and was able to book a stay at the hotel but not until December 2016. Once we got there, no one was there to welcome us at reception so we waited even though we could see that there were people in the kitchen. After about 15 min, we knocked at the window to get their attention. The rooms are very average but decent but I guess that is normal because the hotel is only 3 star hotel. After this episode, things got much better, the food was excellent and the service was also on par. So then I thought it was great. In the end, I can't say that I would go back there to stay for a night but as for the quality of the food, I would say that it was great.

Very Interesting! This is a hotel and restaurant we found at the end of a hard day where we needed to be near Rennes to swap cars and it was too late and we were too tired to deal with a city. Cresson-Sevigny is a commercial outskirt of Rennes and didnt promise much in the way of cute. We drove to one of the hotels in the Red Book, but that one was full. There were several standard hotels around, like the Ibis, but hotels like this serve primarily warmed pre-cooked food. We had passed this place we thought cute on the way, So we came back to find that yes they had a room and yes they had a restaurant. Indeed, the chef was the owner of both. The hotel was a 3 star by French standards, but not by us. Judy went to see the room and thought is ok enough as we were tired and wanted to be done looking, so we stayed. After we moved in she did make the comment that it reminded her of the Bates Motel, but were still here. It wasnt that the room was uncomfortable but very ordinary, as was the whole place except the restaurant. It was spring and maybe the grounds were not yet cleaned up for the summer rush. Clearly the owner/chef, put the restaurant first. As for the hotel, it was just ok.
