Wedding in MalcesineWe stayed here in June 2019 as a family of four. We visited Malcesine for a family wedding. The hotel was very clean, had comfortable beds and large balconies (shared as said previously but thats not a problem). The pool area is lovely too! We had breakfast each morning and the variety of choice was very good. The staff are amazing, so accommodating and helpful. We would 100% stay here again.

Pleasant hotel situated in an ideal locationMe and my husband have just arrived back from a 4 night stay & having read previous reviews we were very nervous about what we would find, however Im delighted to say w were very pleasantly surprised. Yes the hotel is somewhat dated, but theres a very minimal problem. The bar is well stocked with drinks, ice cream and snacks/light meals and these are charged to your room, which you pay on checkout. The shuttle service the hotel can provide to/from the airport is a brilliant price of 35 per person, just make sure you prebook - a taxi will easily be 100 especially as Verona airport is over an hour away. The pool is on the smaller side but still big enough to have a decent length in, plus it has a connecting jacuzzi pool. We stayed in a lovely modern room with its own balcony and had a view of the Lake - the room was cleaned everyday, has its own mini fridge and the bathroom had plenty of towels and was very roomy. The hairdryer is a bit dated and the shower head wouldnt always stay up but theyre not major things. The hotel is ideally situated about 15 minutes walk into Malcesine, which is beautiful. Theres plenty of shops & restaurants and the food is superb! If you walk along the main road, theres a EuroSpar for food and drinks, and a bit further along is the cable car for Monte Baldo. Other reviews will have you thinking that walking to the hotel is like walking up Everest - trust me it isnt. Its a slope/flat/slope/flat/slope journey for about 400 metres. The lady that runs the hotel doesnt speak much English so we found google translate very helpful, and the breakfast is mainly a continental breakfast (plenty of it!) but with some scrambled eggs, bacon and frankfurters too - just be sure to sit at the table that is your room number. This is a lovely hotel that is an excellent price compared to other hotels in the area - we really recommend it and are already looking to return again next year!

Not good value for moneyThe hotel is off the road and up a steep, uneven hill, so you need to either drive or be reasonably good on your feet to reach it. The waiting staff were friendly and the cleaners kept the room clean. The rooms were basic and dated, the mattresses were terrible (if you sat within a foot of the edge you were liable to fall off because there was no structure to them), and we woke up each morning with a stiff neck and back. There was no complimentary water, like we had elsewhere, and it is not close to anywhere to buy water (except for the bar downstairs). Not ideal when you arrive in 30°+ heat. The only ventilation in the bathroom was a window onto the corridor outside and it only opened fully or not at all - not great for privacy or keeping room secure. There was no security box in our room and all the information, including menus, were in German and some in Italian. Breakfast was basic but okay. This was the most expensive stay during our two week holiday (we also stayed in Naples, Rome, Verona, Florence and Venice) and easily the least value for money. We wouldn't go back and nor would we recommend it.

Wedding in MalcesineStayed here with two other couples for a wedding in the castle in Malcesine. For what we paid to stay here you could not fault it. What people have to moan about I dont know. The room was absolutely fine with very good air conditioning. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of variety. The pool was a nice size and lovely to cool off in. The hotel is about a ten minute walk to the town. As for a steep hill up to the hotel I would call it a slope and is easily manageable - and I am very unfit. All staff are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Leowna and Maria. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. Apologies to Bruno for getting him up on about four nights in the early hours of the morning to let us in .

Thoroughly enjoyable experienceMyself and I stayed at this hotel in August 2019. Even though the Hotel is rated as a three star, it is in my opinion closer to a four star hotel. The value for money was tremendous. The Hotel was spotlessly clean. The rooms were spacious and we had an incredible view of the lake on our very large balcony. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The lake and town is a short ten minute walk. I would highly recommend this Hotel.
