  Encantadora estancia

  Me alojé aquí el viernes 25 de julio. Reservé una habitación con vistas al mar por 84. Una habitación adorable con unas buenas vistas al mar. El cuarto de baño estaba bien. Tomamos una comida muy agradable en el bistró que hay contiguo al hotel. 10 por cabeza por unos entrantes, una gran fuente de mejillones y un pequeño postre. Excesivo, tuvimos que ir a dar un paseo después de esto. Había dos turnos en el restaurante para la cena y cogimos el último a las 8:30 pm. Pedimos doce ostras, pero sólo nos pusieron 9 y nos cobraron 12. Tuvimos un pequeño problemilla para resolver esto. El servicio un poco chapucero, aunque hablamos un buen francés, Finalmente intervino el jefe de camareros y lo resolvió. La cena fue buena. El desayuno era excelente en la divertida sala "The Captaineer". Era estilo buffet. No puedo entender los comentarios anteriores. El hotel es intachable. La única zona que notamos deteriorada era la recepción de la entrada. La mujer que estaba al cargo era eficiente, pero un poco cortante.

  Great seaside hotel

  Stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of August whilst heading to the South of France and Spain. Enjoyed our stay so much that we booked another two nights for our return journey in October. This is a classic French seaside hotel. The bedrooms were basic and comfortable.The greatest strength of this hotel is the excellent restaurant and brasserie. If you like seafood and fish this is the place to be. I would recommend the oysters, mussels and the various fish that was on the slate every day. The staff were brilliant. They were helpful, friendly and upbeat about their work. The location of the hotel is outstanding, right on the beach and with easy access to the cycleways to explore the Baie de Somme.

  Great location with fantastic beach/sea view

  We had a corner room with a full view of the sea and the various activities taking place on the beach. That was the highlight, although the room itself was acceptable, with full length "patio" doors to Juliet balcony, bed regulation double and OK. Decor was, disappointingly, neither traditional French seaside nor contemporary, probably considered "modern" some years ago. Bathroom had a small bath with a low, hand-held, shower attachment but no curtain: probably the only hotel we have used in ten years or more without a proper shower. Free parking in a small public space opposite was no problem on a wet and windy day in March. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but it seemed to be popular on a Monday evening. Overall, we thought the room was a touch overpriced at 66, midweek, off season and without breakfast.

  Very poor value

  Sadly this was our second trip to this hotel, last we rated it very good, but a year seems to have made a difference. Our room was small, with a bathroom even smaller. To open the metal window shutter you first had to switch on the bathroom light??. Clearly the shutter had been wired to a light supply. The tap in the bath/shower had been fitted back to front. So turning the tap to the red dot gave you cold water and blue dot gave you hot water. This could cause a serious scold.. The .dinner was very poor with really over cooked chicken breasts The breakfast was a total disaster as ,ever table was taken by a tour group with no provision made for other guests.after a great deal of arguing we were finally allowed to use the main dining room.

  Sunday saviour

  We came here after disappointedly having to abandon our originally chosen hotel, as they werent serving dinner on a Sunday, even though wed checked this before arrival. This hotel was therefore our second choice. The building is very well located, right overlooking the vast beach. It does have a slight 50s feel in style. The room overlooked the beach, too and was warm, in spite of a near gale roaring outside. The food was enjoyable, the service attentive and there is a good wine list. In October, at least, you can park right outside the door.
