  An ok stop

  While travelling in France, we stayed one night at La Petite Auberge. After touring most of the day, we decided to stop at this hotel/restaurant guided by the Logis de France Guide. We entered the restaurant and, after some hesitation by a young lady who had to look for assistance, we were told that they had a room available for the night. The accommodation is across the road, some 100 meters opposite the restaurant. It is a wooden building, offering rooms with a small sitting area, bathroom and toilet on the ground floor and sleeping area upstairs. Rooms are basic but clean and beds were very good. Here you will also find the breakfast area, where a nice selection of breakfast items is offered. In the hallway we found a small fridge with some cool drinks, beer and even a bottle of Crémant de Bourgogne, which we drunk in our room. A nice gesture, with decent prices. We crossed the street for dinner and choose a starter, main and dessert from the à la carte menu. This was a mixed experience. The starter was nice, but the main courses were nothing to write home about. The biggest letdowns were the cheese and dessert we both opted for. In a restaurant like this, I expected at least a (small) selection of cheeses to choose from. However, I was served a plate with four small pieces of boring cheeses and a leaf of salad, while the trio of crème brûlée, chosen by my wife, only scored some points with one of the three. Taking all of this into account, it was an ok stop for the night.

  Regional favourites prepared with locally sourced ingredients

  We ate with friends on two evenings in the restaurant of this family-run hotel, and were impressed with the friendly, efficient service from the patronne and the waitress. The food was of a very high quality and reasonably priced, with regional favourites prepared with locally sourced ingredients (game, trout, etc) as well as flammekuechen, pizzas and burgers. Recommended.

  Delightful hotel

  Stayed 4 nights in Sept 2016 in one of the duplex rooms. Spacious and comfortable, but with the slight inconvenience of two levels with the bathroom downstairs. Lovely welcoming staff, two restaurants (one weekend-only where "tartes flambées" are served) both excellent, with good food and excellent service. Ate here all 4 nights. Located in a very beautiful village.
