Nice hotelLa Palette is a nice hotel located on the Wine Route. Nice quiet spot, with a wonderful restaurant. Wonderful breakfast produced from local products was available. Nice rooms, but VERY small toilets without ventilation and hand wash - and separate bathroom.

Restaurant OK, but hotel ........The restaurant is OK: kind of sophisticated place, interesting menu, food well presented, with assortment of wines. But the hotel accommodation is not in line with expectations. Rooms have not minibar, nor air conditioning, and decor is very 'lay down'. An extensive refurbishment would be badly needed. Bathroom was OK, and used extensively during our night of stay to take cold showers to resist the furnace-like temperature in our room. Next time, another place.

A typical French village hotelA good hotel in a small wine village, rooms were fine and bathroom very good, vast shower, all very clean and neat. Slightly 80's in design, and the owner does like orange, almost everything that could be orange, was orange, but rather fun. Good typical French breakfast. Dinner at their restaurant, which was 50 yards down the drive way was outstanding. deserves a Michelin star. It was slightly pretentious but then that is part of the experience. Value and quality of the food was very reasonable. WE would return!

Good hotel close to everything you need to see!We stayed there for one night on our way to a ski holiday, and it was above our expectations! Clean and nice rooms, spacious with good facilities! Very delicious breakfast with good selection of local cheeses! Good value for money! Free parking on site!

Complete disappointmentWe were really looking forward to our stay as it had sounded really promising. The first disappointment was the hotel. The rooms are in a characterless block a couple of hundred yards from the main building. We wondered if its name reflected the appalling selection of colours. If you like orange and luminous green you may like it. It looks as if the paint may be fairly recent but nothing else. The furniture is utilitarian, although the bed was ok. The rooms are small and very stuffy. There was no airconditioning and, as it was a very hot night, a fan would have helped. There was black mould around the shower which I consider totally unacceptable. We still had high hopes for dinner as this restaurant had Table Distingue rating. I don't know how it got it! The selection was incredibly limited. It all sounded very unusual and quirky and should have been interesting but wasn't. Flavour was lacking, vegetables poorly cooked and a tasteless piece of swordfish. Everything had a flavour of pickling vinegar. It was all very prettily arranged with flowers scattered about the plates. As a judge on master chef might have said, 'a triumph of style over substance.' My dessert was supposedly vanilla but was just white cream with no flavour. It was one of the worst meals I have had in France. We tried to express our dissatisfaction but no one really listened. To cap it all I was woken at 6.00 by the most awful cacaphony of tuneless bells. I appreciate the hotel is not responsible for that but presumably they know it's going to happen and should be sound proofed accordingly. Bells are great if tuneful. Breakfast was the best thing about the place but the decor of the room again let it down.
