  Pleasant stay

  The hotel is definitely adequate for a short business trip. Staff are very polite, friendly and do their best to help you. Breakfast was fine although the hot options are not really geared towards European tastes but there are sufficient other options. The food from the restaurant was good. Hotel looks a bit old and could do with a face-lift but nonetheless is spotlessly clean.

  Customer service not great - definitely not worth the price

  The hotel is well located and clean enough. However, I did not have hot water for two days, and the pool was not available when it was supposed to be open. These things happen - the real problem is that management didn't do anything to fix the problem, or even respond. So for this reason, I would not recommend.

  The success is turned into a complacency

  Hotel La Falaise has been my "home" in Yaoundé since February 2015. It seems that the hotel has been a success, always a lot of people around and often fully booked. I have had a lot of good experiences at the hotel since my first stay in February 2015. Currently, my experience is that the staff has been satisfied, they no longer strive to do the utmost for their guests. And the maintenance, especially in the bathrooms, is not satisfactory. All the time since February 2015 I have commented that the restaurant and the quality of the chefs have not kept the same standard as the rest of the hotel. Unfortunately, it has not improved. Today, they couldn't even fry eggs for breakfast in an proper way. The only excuse from the restaurant manager was that "this is the way we serve eggs here at Hotel Falaise". I'm checking out today.

  About the hotel

  First time i stayed in this hotel. nternet connection very good, near city center.. service is good, breakfast and food is good. Apart from all in business center, Madame Manuella gives perfect and cheerful service. I highly appreciated her help. Together with Hilton, this is the best choice. Much cheaper than Hilton..

  Old-style furnishings; appalling service in restaurant for woman traveling alone

  I was in Room 601. It has a big bed, armchair, desk and chair, closet, in-room safe, ledge for bag, fridge, AC, TV, coffee-making facilities, and full-length mirror. The decor is pretty old-style, not modern. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, but the shower head is not positioned high enough, so I had to hold the shower head myself to wet my hair to wash it. I had a few problems with the Wi-Fi at one point. But most of the time it worked, albeit a bit more slowly than at home. I have knocked a star off my rating because of the appalling service in the restaurant. I went in there to have dinner. I was given the menu soon enough, but ordering was ridiculous. It was maybe half an hour from getting the menu until I ordered. At various points, I was waving my arms in the air trying to get the attention of waitstaff. I finally ended up going over to the kitchen and poking my nose in there to ask if was possible to order around here. I didnt notice other tables, which all seemed to be businessmen (vs me, a woman traveling by myself), having the same problem. Then part of my order was wrong and part was forgotten. Once I got the food, it was pretty decent, but the service was a joke. The hotel is located near the center of Yaoundé. Given the horrendous traffic in the center, the next time I will likely pick a hotel somewhere else, unless I need to be in the center.
