Great location, but a little expensive for what was provided. The location is excellent and really close to the main square of Monflanquin. Our room had been recently updated and was clean, smart and tidy. However, the stairs and corridors were part of the Bar's rear staff area and desperately need new carpets and a good clean, but we didn't spend any time in them, so it wasn't a problem. The room itself was good, as was breakfast, which was in the restaurant. The price was about what you would pay for a nicer Hotel or B&B and was only justified by the excellent location. That said, there may be better options for your stay in Monflanquin.

A lucky findWe want to Monflanquin when nearly all the restaurants were closed, Not only was this restaurant open the food was excellent, the welcome was warm and the prices were very good. There was a good choice of good traditional French food and the service was very good. They accommodated our vegetarian member with no hesitation. I don't think you can ask for more at the price we paid.

Oh dear..what a disappointing dinnerThis restaurant has recently changed hands - and first impressions are not entirely for the better. The new decor in the bar is modern and functional with a more spacious feel to it. The service was warm and friendly. The restaurant has also been renovated, a little starkly with few soft furnishings to absorb the noise - and a rather questionable ceiling design. The service here was slower, but still friendly The house red wine was fine, however the white was awful - absolutely awful - more like retsina than anything of French origin. And the food regrettably provided a comparable companion to the white wine. The salmon tartare was disappointing. The burgers were over cooked and tepid in temperature in a bun with a smear of tomato sauce - and nothing else - not even a lettuce leaf. You could get as good from a roadside van en route to a sports stadium. The chicken was over-cooked and dry. The chocolate dessert was heavy and eaten only because of hunger. Very very poor value for money. I appreciate they have been open only for a few weeks and are still settling in and that any restaurant can have an off day, but based on this visit they need to up their game quickly:- Better and more choice of white wines and hotter and better cooked food would help. We wont be rushing back.

exceptional staff, acceptable roomArrived late after an arduous bike ride. After offering me a cold drink they let me lock my bike in the garage and showed me to my room. By the time I came down to eat the kitchen was closed, BUT they served me a huge bowl of pumpkin soup and a plate of meats, a bit of foie gras and cheese with some greens and bread. A couple of cold pints of beer topped off a great meal...no room for dessert. The room was ordinary, (a bit warm since I had to close the external blinds to keep out the light from the sign below), but the shower was good, and everything was very clean. The breakfast was fine, but again the staff was really friendly and attentive. The location is excellent.

Nice big room - good qualityThis hotel is located extremely conveniently and is good value, clean with good service and large airy room. The wardrobe facilities are a little basic but quite adequate, we would certainly stay here again.
