  Middle-of-the-road hotel

  Stayed at Hotel Kreuzer for three night in late July 2016, and got a kind reception and fairly convenient room, reminding one of the better US motels. Everything one expects was there, including a very good free internet connection. The hotel is located between the S-Bahn S1 line and a fairly busy road, but our room was quiet enough. Breakfast had the usual choices and was okay. Most memorable about this hotel was the very efficient young staff. The hotel has a large private parking area, although shared with Sixt rental cars. It is located at the outskirts of the town of Wedel and almost in the middle between two S-Bahn stations, meaning you would have to walk for minutes to get to the nearest to the hotel. From the station it takes just 34 minutes to get to Jungfernstieg in the middle of Hamburg.

  Very nice hotel

  We had a wonderful time in Hotel Kreuzer. Very friendly staff, We booked the package 'Sightseeing Hamburg'. Enjoyed the bus trip and harbor boat trip. You can go to the city of Hamburg by S-bahn. It takes a 15 minute walk to the nearest S-bahn stop at Rissen, but you can also go to the centre of Wedel and park your car at the free P&R parking near the S-bahn stop.

  Friendly welcome and clean comfortable room

  We arrived very late and with our dog but the welcome couldn't have been warmer. The room was clean comfortable and stylish in a basic way. The bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection. A great stopover.

  Very nice, great price / quality.

  Spacious, very clean and lovely rooms. I was especially impressed with the shower (wonderfully modern Hans Grohe equipment), the sauna and the pricing (room, food, drinks) in this hotel. I would recommend this hotel which is situated in a leafy suburb of Hamburg.

  Good Hotel

  I stayed at the Hotel Kreuzer for four nights in August 2019 with my husband and two sons, thirteen and four years of age. We had a double room for us and another one for the kids. The boys room wasnt next to ours but around the corner even though we had booked well in advance. That was a little inconvenient, though not a big problem. Little platters with fruit, chocolates and a welcome note had been set up in the rooms, which we thought was very nice. The rooms were functional but rather tastefully decorated and equipped with TV, safe, and hairdryer. No A/C, but that is probably hardly ever needed in Wedel. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom looked brand new and had a good strong shower. The only toiletries provided were soap and body wash. One of our rooms opened onto a nice courtyard with tables and chairs to sit in nice weather. The other room, however, only had a window facing the train tracks. The view wasnt nice but there was hardly any noise from the trains as long as the window was closed. Other than the slightly confused check-in and the allocation of rooms, the service at Hotel Kreuzer was excellent and way above three-star-standard. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast buffet, too, was excellent and better than we would have expected in a three-star hotel. It offered a great range of choices and the food was of good quality, fresh, and nicely presented. We were in Wedel for a wedding, so the hotel was conveniently located for us. Im not sure how convenient it would be as a base for exploring Hamburg. We went to Hamburg harbour by car and it took us about forty minutes. Taking the train doesnt take much longer, I believe, but we were told that its about a fifteen-minute-walk to the train station from the hotel. A number of our relatives were staying at the Kreuzer as well and we were all happy with our choice of hotel. It doesnt look like much from the outside, but once you enter it is really quite nice.
