  Great location and good position to access Hachimantai and Nyuto Onsen

  We spent 3 nights here as their only guests- not sure why as it is a great hotel, opposite the lake and close to the local bus stop (koen iriguchi) for transport to the JR station, Nyuto Onsen and Akita Koma-ga-dake. Plus lovely little private Onsen. Dinner was served each night Traditonal style in our own little shoji screened private dining room. Lovely food with lots of seafood and hot pots plus local soba noodles. We spent one day getting the bus to The Nyuto Onsen area - map attached which is an experience to walk around and enjoy the onsens. The second day we caught the bus to Hachigome to start the Akita Koma-ga-dake hike- sadly we had real mountain weather with low cloud and drizzle but in good weather would be spectacular with unrivalled views ( according to the book) and relatively easy to access given the bus takes you so high to begin the walk.
