    Nice onsen hotel

We came on a self guided Nakasendo trail. Due to peak season, the agent could only get us a room in this hotel. However, they did not give clear instructions, so relying on google map, we walked 1hr up the winding road with heavy traffic. This hotel us understaffed for our needs like getting TAQBin service. Which neant we had to tweak our itinerary to get our luggages to the next stop. A self drive will solve the problem of transport as its out of the way. Otherwise we were pleased with the service, huge new (ask for Annex), Japanese style rooms, free shuttle to a few stops including Nagiso station. The Japanese style buffet dinner was good with tempura, sushi, onden, ice cream, dessert, chawanmushi. Good outdoor onsen. Beautiful mountain view. Good hotel if its part of your route on Nakasendo as its a good option if you dont like staying in a small inn. But dont come specially for the facilities.

    Classic Onsen Resort

Stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel offers a short shuttle to and from the old town on the Nakasendo. The hotel is insanely big and is a relic from the 1980s with its decor and style reminiscent of those times in Japan with the booming economy and construction of large resorts in the countryside. Definitely a surreal experience for someone who has never been to such a hotel. Approaching the hotel by cab at night it looked like a castle perched on a hill. Large and clean rooms had a nice view of the surrounding forest. Dinner served in the guest area was beautiful in presentation and very tasteful. The highlight to the hotel is the enormous outdoor onsen complex. Perfect for a dip after a long hike. I would return to this hotel if ever visiting the region again. The kiso valley is beautiful and one of a kind in Japan.

    Beautiful onsen and beautiful mind

I have not stayed in this hotel but visited the onsen. Indoor bath is large and beautifully lighted up, and outdoor bath is just so beautiful you'd stay there the whole night. The fee is very reasonable and it includes a towel. A taxi ride from Tsumago village costs less that 2000 yen.

It is a kind of amusement park

You will enjoy hot springs, delicious dinner and breakfast, free colourful kimono, free ice Candies, free shampoo bar , free ping-pong game, free mangas, free board games. It seems to me that it is like an amusement park.
