  Old Fashioned Hotel in Convenient Location

  This old fashioned Hotel is on Kalpana Chak, a prominent location of Bhubaneswar. Its very near to the Railway station too. Although this hotel is situated on the busy crossing, but due to large boundaries, traffic noise will hardly disturb you. The check in & check out process is a smooth & smiling face. I entered the hotel at 7AM & they have allowed me to check in without any extra charge. The free breakfast is not elaborate but its ok type, The room was clean but AC is not adequate to cool the room, they had provided two pedestal fans, these are not expected from Ashoka group, Overall its an OK type hotel with Govt flavour, not advisable for a leisure trip. I think better hotels are available in the city at the same cost.

  Peaceful stay

  Had a memorable peaceful stay at Kalinga Ashok hotel in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. Clean and spacious room. It was also a coincidence that i visited to launch my book about king Ashoka and the Kalinga war

  comfortable clean and maintained

  We had a memorable stay at this Hotel, the hotel had a big campus, at very prime location, the rooms are old but still maintained , specious, with all the required amenities. the Hotel staff is very cooperative The breakfast menu needs some improvement , the restaurant had a limited menu,which is bit over priced .

  MANAGEMENT APATHY

  Room [No.217] was well appointed. Toileteries supplied are moderate. Amenities vis-a-vis cost of rooms are not value for money at all. Inadequate staff, thereby not good service. Sanitization of hotel premises and interior are missing. Web check-in is not no-contact in actual. Wi-fi is poor. Reception is not efficient, neither the restaurant. No buffet breakfast is available. Clear policy paralysis as well as management apathy. Overall experience is poor.

  Dated but comfortable

  This property is located at very prominent location of kalpana square. The hotel has big campus with larg e parking and lawns. The reception and lobby area is big. The room size is also very good. I stayed here for one night during my recent visit to bhubaneswar. The check-in was quick and the front staff was polite. The room was twin bedded room. The room had Vitrified Tiles flooring and the interior looked dated . Room has crt television , mini bar and some furniture too. The room was clean and The linen too was clean. The toilet was spacious and clean too. The biggest drawback of this hotel is its age which reflects on everything however in practicality my stay was quite comfortable here. There is no provision for drivers stay at night or any bathroom for him. The staff is courteous and well behaved. There are nice eateries around and did not try the room service as I was not in on time. Overall a comfortable stay for me.
