Nice Onsen hotelThis is a hotel who offers proper onsen experience to the guests. The beautiful mountain range of Aso is in view from every room. The package they offer is reasonable and suitable for group and family holiday. They make no adjustment to the temperature to the natural spring. Some guests say it is not warm enough for winter. When I visited, the inside bath was hot and outside one was just nice for my liking. The best thing about this hotel is they have 6 private bath in a separate building. Each bath has different feature and it is great for private use. Some are inside bath only, some are outside bath only and some have a bath over inside and outside! One I used is called 'Cave Onsen' The rock feature was beautiful and it was as if I walked through the cave in the water! Outside pool is a reasonable size and good for play and rap swimming. Table tennis is popular with families. There are a number of free service on offer at that time such as free jelly, pudding and coffee from the souvenir shop. Family photo service and Yukata service etc. Breakfast smorgasbord offers huge range of foods. Some local dish as well as western range. The dinner will depend on the package but they try to include local produce for most packages. The dinning was in the big tatami room with other guests. It was great as seating was at the table and the chair, not sitting on tatami mat. We met friendly English speaking staff from Philippines. Staff are nice and friendly in general. We had a lovely holiday in this hotel.

Typical Japanese RyokanThis is the first time i've stayed in a Ryokan. The food to me was nice, both dinner and breakfast, especially the onsen egg in the morning, a little cold but very tasty. We stayed in a Japanese Ryokan style room for four, which is not really recommended, i'd never stay again as it is not really comfortable to sleep with so many people while you only have 1 toilet and wash room. The hotel offer an onsen, both outdoor and indoor, the outdoor one is quite small, only can accomodate a few people and the surrounded area was not that pleasant, there are 2 onsen inside the bath area which can accomodate around 7-8 people in each one. The hotel also offer some game room, table tennis etc. the massage chair a bit noisy though. overall i think the hotel is a bit old.

Recommend hot spring separate rooms!4.... We stayed the room of Japanese-Western of 4th floor, that we could see Aso volcano via large windows. The dinner was Kaiseki and the local cuisine was very delicious. Due to there are 6 kinds of style of hot spring separate rooms, that I was really satisfied. Just too many Chinese tours stay here, that I felt a little ... (They were too much noisy, but staffs never ask them for quiet.)
