Isola Paradise
I have just returned from a two week holiday at this hotel and although I thought it was a good hotel, one week would have been long enough. The food was edible but very bland, a choice of something tasty or remotely spicy would have been much appreciated. There was a lovely pool which was clean and well maintained but unfortunately, extremely cold. The staff were mostly friendly, and some could speak a little English. The main downside with this hotel is that there was zero entertainment. Also, once the restaurant closed at 9pm, you could only get a drink from the small bar area near the pool, and then out of plastic glasses! Snacks always seemed to be cake. During my stay I found the hotel to be full of Russians and Germans. I didn't meet one person from the UK!

Nightmare
Noisy, more noise and really noisy. If you complain the guard only go and party with the people in the noisy room.... Bad food and totally uninterested staff - probably because they work 17 hours a day and just don't give a toss. Was there summer 2011, but that is not an option to choose here.

Its 'fine'
This hotel was a huge disappointment. If you've already booked dont panic you'll survive but genuinely there is nothing good about this hotel but nothing terrible. Things i feel tell you something fundamental about the type of hotel this is: 1)the helpful guy on reception told us not to bother paying for the wifi its so slow! 2)They provide 1 sachet of shower gel... i always take my own but still its a basic thing. 3)The sheets do not fit the beds... as in they are so small they cannot be tucked in so just ball up under you as you sleep! 4) One positive is that there are actually enough sunbeds (or maybe it just wasn't that busy when we were there) however there are no matresses- not even overpriced to hire! Do yourself a favour and buy a lilo to put on the sunbed (20lvs well spent). 5) They don't offer ANY waiter service. You have to collect your own cutlery like a school canteen and there is always a queue for the one most likely to be edible item served each meal. We have travelled more than average and this is the first all inc. holiday we've not been able to eat everyday at the hotel and had to eat out (theres some lovely all day breakfast available on the sea front!) All of the above things are liveable but add up to leave a disappointing overall feel. If you go away to make holiday buddies be warned we were the only English people in the hotel and the entertainment girl nearly fell over in shock when we told her we were English so it wasnt just the week we were there. Also not sure if its some Bulgarian mistranslation or just this hotel but if you book a standard double you will get a twin room... there was a lady complaining when we arrived and she was told (as if it was obvious) a standard double means 2 beds and a large double means one big bed... The frosty suggestion from the reception was for the lady to go back online and make a new booking for a large double- she wasnt even offered to pay the difference to get the room she wanted!! This is probably the longest review I've ever written but wanted to explain the low rating.

Lovely hotel
We really enjoyed our stay at Izola Paradise. The room was modern and very spacious with a good-sized balcony. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We had an issue with payment, but this was resolved quickly. The price we paid was definitely worth it. I would not recommend the food/drink here. Therefore, self-catering would be my recommended option. The waitresses/bar staff weren't very accommodating. Although, one of the bar men in the bar outside was friendly and we especially liked the man who was in charge of the pool tables.
