  Great

  We enjoyed our holiday at iskar and would return to this hotel... food is lovely always something to eat.. some staff are grumpy but outside bar staff are great.. near lots of shops and bars great pools and slides for kids.. very very slippery around pool area lots of people slipping as pool tiles are like glass.. it is so dangerous for children i saw 5/6 children slipping it realy need sorting out other then that great hotel...

  What you pay for

  Well what can I say about the iskar.. I've barely seen staff around this place other than maids that seem to clean all the time from morning to midnight. On first Appearances of my room it's very good and clean. I had a studio, although I paid for a single room which I was impressed with, then it all went downhill from there. The smell of the breakfast was enough to make me want to throw up so I didn't bother, I thought I'd just have a coffee but even that was revolting. The pool area looks dirty and could do with a good clean. Pool is also smaller than it appears in photos although it's not drastically smaller. The local beach, bars and restaurants are really good which makes this holiday worth it. Later on in the evening I came back to have a to discover that the water decides to change temperature whenever it wants, the plug is also blocked so I had to have a really quick shower otherwise the bathroom would have flooded and my air-con didn't work. On the plus side the bed is really comfortable. To be honest I booked a really cheap deal to get away and be by the beach so as long as the room was clean and tidy I didn't care, if you're planning to get away for a really relaxing top class holiday do not come to this hotel because the price simply States what you're paying for, basic. Also there was no safe in my room to rent???

  Great hotel, fantastic holiday

  We stayed at the Iskar at the end of August for a family holiday. The rooms certainly werent luxury, but they were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable, also there was air con in the room. The food was excellent. It was mostly Bulgarian, but Im a vegetarian and made a good, tasty plate every day. My 8 year old step daughter also loved the food. There were snacks available by the pool, and ice cream in the afternoons (the melon ice cream was especially delicious!). Really, what we chose this hotel for was the pool which, as for the rest of the hotel, was spotlessly clean, as were the sun loungers and tables. The pool was huge so you could swim without being crowded, and we could always find a sun lounger. Cocktails from the pool bar were lovely and alcohol was certainly not skimped on! The beer was good too. Water slides were really fun. As for the rest, its five minutes to the beach, and there are shops all around. Theres also a currency exchange and little shop in the hotel. Its excellent value for the price. Would definitely recommend the Iskar and we hope to return next year.

  Great hotel

  Late with the review. Went with my missus and daughter in August 2019. Style - the hotel does look out of date, but we were only going to sleep in the bed (which was very comfy) etc, we'd be out normally. Food - the food was nice, glad we came as it wasn't alot of English food (if you go to another country tend to try local food), some days we did go out for breakfast a few times which was again good food. With the drinks they were really nice pool bar opened at 11am til 10pm, went all inclusive so beer, cocktails and soft drinks were sooo nice. Staff - staff were plesent and friendly, cleaners worked from morning til night which is good as the place was spotless. Hotel other things - - Pool - pool was amazing, good size to swim opened from 9am til 6pm (think). The water slides were sooo much fun 10.30am til 4.30pm. -- Childrens entertainment - they did kids activities nearly everyday including a disco which we can look at on the terrace. We have booked to go back next year.

  To be recommended

  Our holiday started 14th September. At this time the resort is winding down. When we arrived on Saturday the resort was busy but by the following Saturday it was almost empty. It was a nice time to visit as I was told that in high season it can be very busy and noisy in this part of town. We were met at 11.30 p.m by the very nice receptionist, Tatiana, who made us feel very welcome. We were give a sandwich and fruit as it was so late at night. The reception area was just as it is in the pictures, modern and clean. A couple of comfortable seats would be welcome! The bedrooms were small and in need of updating. The sheets were too small for the beds. The room was spotlessly clean. The towels were changed every morning by the very pleasant Ayisha The food was mediocre. It was very repeatitive. A little bit of imagination and some fresh vegetables would be welcome There are lots of nice restaurants in the surrounding area and it is very cheap to eat out.. Again the dining room was spotlessly clean. Local alchol was included. There was nowhere comfortable to sit on the night that it rained. A comfortable bar would be welcome. The pool area was lovely. As the hotel was not too busy there was always lots of room at the poolside and there is also a nice shaded area. The staff at the Iskar were very pleasand and efficient. Would I recommend the Iskar? Yes certainly at the time of year that we visited
