  Delightful guest house

  The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable with a small sitting area outside the room. For the price, this is an excellent choice. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly and helpful. Locations is close to town.

  Just right!

  We stayed here for two nights and it proved an ideal base during our visit to Kigali. The staff were friendly, the place was clean and food was generally good. It's in a very nice part of town albeit not quite within reasonable walking distance to the city centre. We stayed in the apartment which, though outdated in style, was huge and had a nice balcony.

  Quiet place in the center

  This is my second stay here and the impression is still good. The hotel is located in the heart of Kigali but in a quiet residential area (not far from the President House). I was surprised to wake up in middle of Kigali to the sound of birds rather than cars. Though it's not far from town center mind the steep hills of Kigali. The place has a restaurant but we had only breakfast there. The breakfast buffet was good (toast, fruits, egg). The garden is nice and can be viewed from the balcony. The only downside is that the room and bath are tiny. Just across the street is the "Dolce" - a nice Pizza and Bar.

  1 night stay before safari through Rwanda

  This was booked via our safari company, we researched it and it looked fine on the internet. However we were disappointed with the room we were offered, it was just big enough for the bed and tight manoeuvring around our luggage. One the whole it was clean except we didnt want to use the shower at all as it was covered in black mould. Wifi was available but I recommend you join at reception before going to the room, we couldnt join the network in the room but once connected it was fine. Breakfast is a continental only, it was fresh and serviceable- but we wouldve liked some eggs . On balance we were pleased it was only a 1 night stay, and wish wed selected somewhere a bit nicer to stay.

  My Reservation of 6 months was not held!!

  I WAS a repeat customer of the Iris Guesthouse and previously gave a very positive review. Sadly this time was much different. I booked the 3 bedroom apartment 6 months in advance. I confirmed the reservation with the hotel manager two weeks before our scheduled stay and was told that everything was still in place and that they looked forward to our visit. When we arrived late in the evening for our stay, I was told (unapologetically) that our reservation was not held and that they no longer had space for our team. Thankfully we were able to find a very nice nearby hotel for my team to stay. I will NEVER bring a team here again.
