  an American experience here

  Our Japanese host brought us here for a one night stay, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The room was clean and cool, enjoyed the tatami floors and sleeping on futons. We visited both upstairs and downstairs baths. It seemed very clean. The water was plenty hot for me! Enjoyed the view upstairs, and the view into the garden downstairs and the outside air early in the summer morning. The buffet dinner and breakfast was very fresh and tasty. Our party of 4 also enjoyed renting a room for karaoke for an hour after dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't have children with us, but saw families headed to the waterpark nearby.

  Most Favorite Onsen in the Area

  One of the best features of this hotel is the excellent varieties of hot baths. Aside from the rooftop onsen, they have roten buro and a host of other wooden, ceramic, rock and even standup baths. We had booked a suite with beds as well as the tatami rooms because we had our whole family and it was spacious and great views of the river and nearby mountains. We opted for the buffet meals since our kids have hearty appetites. The food is prepared from local veggies, rice and nearby cuisines. All delicious! It is very close from Koriyama JR station and many people come from Tokyo for day trips.

  One of my favorite spots in Japan

  The Hananoyu has been one of my favorite hot springs resorts in all of Fukushima for sure and maybe even Japan. The baths are amazing, they have so many varieties that you can just go from one bath to the next trying out wooden ones, stone ones, ceramic ones and so on. The meals are excellent whether you choose the buffet style or the traditional Japanese meals. If you have children, definitely choose the buffet, it offers so much more options. The rooms are peaceful, overlooking a beautiful river and the service is top notch. They have karaoke rooms, a full bar, gorgeous gardens and in the summer the kids can go to the pool. Our family of 6 stayed in the combo traditional and western bed room comfortably.

  Nice private Onsen bath and Good buffet

  The private Onsen bath in room is great and spacious. Beautiful small Garden but no view outside. The hallway that leads to the room look luxurious. We actually had a private dining in room but our friends were staying in another class so we skipped the private dining and join the buffet dinner. There were a lot of food choice with taste great! You can only get 1 steak per person. The breakfast buffet is good too.
