A wonderful place to stay on a Katy Trail bike tourThis place was amazing. The moment I cycled up to the frond door, I was impressed by the historic appearance and fresh and clean look. The hotel is a temple of oak with heavy oak woodwork and decor. Every corner was expertly restored and reflected the days gone by. My hotel room was a traditional older style room with a view of downtown and the courthouse. The owners were very kind and friendly. I understand they recently took possession of the hotel. They were attentive during the stay. They will even store your bicycle in a safe place duing your stay. I ws unable to experience their food and drink in this time of COVID-19. I haveseen many good reivews of their dining room which was closed. I woudl definitely selecttihs plae if I refurn to Boonville.

So much potential...I truly love historic hotels and wanted to love the Frederick so much, but just couldn't. The hotel bar/restaurant was always hit or miss as to whether it was open, the ACs sounded like jet engines, the "river view" was just a sliver from one window (excellent marketing though!), the bathroom with the stained glass door was just awkward, peeling paint in the room, towels and linens that looked mismatched and worn. The one time we did visit the hotel bar/restaurant, we were treated to watching the desk clerk and one of the servers playing "basketball" with a beach ball and the key basket...at the price we paid for the room, I don't think expecting professional staff is asking too much. The hotel is a grand dame that I really hope finds the love she needs and deserves; we did hear that new owners are taking over soon, maybe they'll really shine the place up.

Perfect againFor the eighth year in a row, I brought a group of bicyclist to the Hotel Federick.. Once again, everything was perfect. My bike touring company takes me all over this country. and no other venue has consistently been as together than the Hotel Frederick.. Historic Comfort is how it is best described. Great staff. Very clean and well appointed rooms. Fantastic food. I will be booking soon for the 2021 tour. Simple stated. If it aint broke, dont fix it. It's ALL Good! Bubba Bubba's Pampered Pedalers

DisappointedThe property is a beautiful old hotel. In all my years of traveling, I have never been in a room that didnt have a ice bucket or glass of any kind. The bed was very comfortable. There is a lot of required walking.

Lots of character. A great break from hotel chainsMy husband and I stayed there on a Friday night in Feb 2021 for a family gathering. It is a lovely historic hotel with a lot of character. Our room was #7 on the 2nd floor. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size with a large shower. My only complaint (and it is minor) is that the lighting in the bathroom could have been better. The basement lounge is wonderful with its brick walls and Edison lights. It was a happening place with live music and a great vibe. For dinner, there were a number of great looking options. My husband and I shared fried pickles and we each ordered seafood (lobster/crab) ravioli. Our opinion was that those were ok but not great (we have pretty high standards). The sauce on the ravioli was not a typical cream sauce but a very spicy sauce (and I like spice, but not in this case) that had seafood in it, but it just wasn't what you would expect for a seafood ravioli sauce. Others around us ordered the pork chops, which looked delicious, and they were very happy. There were many great options on the menu and I would definitely eat there again to try the steak or other options. This hotel has undergone a lot of upgrades and has new owners (nice young couple) as of July 2020. If you like to experience places other than hotel chains, this is definitely a place to check out. We enjoyed our stay.
