  Superb

  Very Nice Hotel! Cosy, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Accepts dogs with open arms, got a giftbag. Nice lounge area with open fire and super nice relax with sauna and hot tub! Unfortunately no bubbles in the tub. Perfect location for skiing. Good extensive breakfast (no porridge unless u ask, and slow refill in scrambled eggs).

  Excellent location above the town of Are in Sweden

  One week skiing in Are. We were three so had a room with a pull down sofa, on the second floor. Lovely view of the lake and valley below. Room very clean. The whole experience was enchanting, lively, and had quality. Enchanting as shown in the decor of the hotel, very Scandivanian, lively as demonstrated with the best apres entertainment we have ever seen, a live group and packed room for an hour, and quality with the helpful staff and standard of food. Hot tubs and sauna were very nice and made up for the hotel not having a pool. The funicular railway down to the town is a unique feature and essential. Only one word of caution. Hotel classified as a ski in ski out but to do this this you have to be able to ski red slopes. We would stay there again.

  Avoid the bar

  Children between 14 and 17 not allowed in the bar even with parents. No explanation given, but they are apparently not interested in families with older children. Low value for money, 4 for Coke . Stay away!

  Very cozy stay with a view

  An old and cozy hotel far up on the mountain welcomes you with friendly staff and swift check in. We had a room with a loft. Room was clean with two single beds in the loft and one queen in the main room. We were treated with bathrobes for the four of us and slippers. Great to have when you take a swim in the pool that has the greatest view. Nice big sauna. Some reviewers have complained about small rooms, ok theyre not huge or spacious but very nice and offers what you need. Breakfast was great and generous. Will come back again. Thanks.

  Nice location, poor service and nosiy rooms

  My room had a high vacum noise. The receptionist was a ware of the situation as other customers complained about that before. Still, she booked me that room anyway in the first place even though other rooms were available on the same date as I have checked with different booking websites. The solution from the receptionist was to keep the window open all night to stop the noise. Also, she pointed out that it worked before with other guests. However, having a low temperature during night and strong wind, I would risk catching cold and destroy my vacation. When I insisted to refuse the solution, they offered me an upgrade for one night free of charge. However, I had to pack again that night, go to the other room and then pack my stuff again the next morning before 11:00 and leave them to the receptionist so that I could move to another room after 15:00. Basically packing and unpacking three times in two nights. I could discuss several good solutions they should have offered from the first day, but I just came to relax not to discuss!
