In need of TLC/RefurbishmentNot one of the better FIs we have stayed in. One of the "old style" F1s (the newer ones have different showers/toilets) i would guess and the cigarette burns on the carpet in our non-smoking room didn't help endear itself. also, no eateries close by - had to drive into Metz on a Sunday evening!

Cheap, affordable accommodation, ideal for road trippersI stayed at this cheap budget hotel chain known as Hotel F1 but this time about 20km north of Metz in a small village known as Ennery, which is about a five minute drive the nearby A31. So if you got a car and want to tour the area like I did in June 2013, then this location is ideal. Car parking is plenty, for about 40 cars. A lot of truckers do also stay here as there is a truck stopover spot a few meters away, but there wasn't many here when me and Olga stayed. The hotel room is the same. Double bed with a single bed over the top, desk and television in one corner with only one power point for the plugs and a sink in the corner. Toilets and showers are located further down the corridor. The breakfast room is very small and combined with the reception. There are a few park benches outside if you want to sit outside, and there is also a few vending machines with snacks and a microwave to warm up food. Staff here are polite and helpful.

First Time but won't be lastWe used this F1 for a stop over on our way back from the south of France and arrived around 9.30 at night. We were given our booking sheet with room key on it and found a compact room which was clean. The separate showers and toilets were also clean. Added bonus of free wifi so excellent value for money at 24 a night. Beds were comfortable but did find the floorboards a bit creaky. We didn't hear any noise from other guests and had a good nights sleep in room 230
