  Very enjoyable stay

  Had a lovely short break here. The staff is very friendly, especially the owner. We arrived just after 2pm and the kitchen had just closed and due to the off-season any restaurant would be closed in the area. The owner kindly offered to prepare a lasagne which we were all to happy to accept. We had a nice, modern, large room and it was spotless. We also had a meal in the restaurant and it was really nice homely food. We will come back.

  Winter Holiday

  I stayed at Hotel Engel between 24 and 28 March in room no 305 on a bus holiday with Edwards Coach Holidays. The room was clean with two comfortable single beds, TV and an on sweet shower and toilet. No Mini Bar or Kettle Breakfast was continental in style including, cereal, bread cold meat and cheese, yogurt and fruit. Plenty of Tea and coffee but no hot food. The evening meal consisted of three courses with a choice of main course on four days. More food was offered every evening. The hotel has a small bar with 0.5L beer costing 5.6 swiz Franks. We had a singer / organist on one evening. It is important to take an outdoor key if you go outside the building in the late evening. The staff in the hotel were always helpful and friendly. Outside the hotel there is a supermarket opposite and to the right and a cable car running to the top of the mountain 5 minutes walk to the left. The Hotel kindly organised a discount on the cable car which cost 17 swiz Franks return per person. Cars run on the hour and on the half with the last car descending the mountain at 17:00. At the top of the Mountain there is a good restaurant and coffee shop with stunning views weather permitting.

  Super Cute and Quaint

  I stayed here with an EF tour group in June of 2019. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the food was good. The heavy comforter was a bit much for a June stay but with the ability to open the widows the night atmosphere was pleasant. It was one of my favorite hotels of the trip!

  Very pleasant and welcoming hotel owner & wonderful Swiss mountains

  The hotel is centrally based, located in a very small but lovely village in the heart of Switzerland. We especially appreciated the hospitality of the hotel owner and very pleasant hotel staff. Hotel Engel offers a fair ratio between price and quality. We can only recommend booking accommodation with HB. Rich breakfast and well compounded evening menu will sweeten your stay.

  Basic facilities, but very welcoming staff.

  Nice friendly hotel with good food and very helpful staff. The room was small neat and basically furnished but lacked many of the facilities needed for a higher property rating. There was no room safe to provide the necessary security for personal possessions, money or passport; nor coffee or tea making facilities. The TV had a selection of english chanels and the internet speed was ok in the centre of the room. The bathroom had a simple walk-in shower, but no bath. Food was tasty basic local cuisine.
