A refreshing and safe break from Covid19We are currently visiting here on day 5 of a 7 day holiday. We didnt intend on coming here and only found our way here after two holidays elsewhere were cancelled due to Covid. We really had a stroke of luck with this hotel! The complex is beautiful and large, we were placed in building C which is the furthest away from main building. It is a 2 minute walk at most through beautiful gardens, although it was taxing with 8 bags and 2 children when we first arrived. A concierge service would have been much appreciated but everything has had to change due to Covid. The barman Akis is amazing and really made our holiday. He was great with the kids and with the adults! We never found him inappropriate or disrespectful. He does use the Maria joke on a lot of people and everyone I met was happy to play along and took it for the joke that it was. Some names are hard for Greeks to pronounce and this seems to be his way of dealing with it. He creates the most delicious cocktails and even managed to improve on our favourite Baileys banana colada. He made the kids mocktails at our request. We found that he actually improved our holiday markedly. He deserves a pay rise! The rooms were spacious and clean. We were told on arriving that cleaning had to be requested the day before due to Covid which we understood. It has been a little inconvenient but nothing that could ruin the holiday. The pool area and bar are clean and tidy, with relaxing happy music playing. Never had a problem getting a sun bed and no issues with people reserving them. It felt like a safe place to relax as a family. The main town area is a 5 min shuttle bus away. The shuttle bus is free and runs almost every hour apart from random times over dinner where it goes 3 hours without a service. The skeptic in me wonders if this is because they want you to stay in the hotel and pay for their dinner buffet. The breakfast is fine, they are serving you due to Covid which means I am eating a lot less than if I were serving myself. This is probably a good thing! They dont mind you asking for more or going up multiple times but personally I felt greedy. Dinner is a little limited with no easy kids options, a bit of a nightmare for my fussy eater. The staff are exceptionally friendly and again made us want to eat there. The general area of Agia Marina, Id imagine was lovely pre covid. I would say 80% of the businesses are closed right now. Turn right after getting off the bus and it gets busier after a 10 minute walk. Plenty of beach bars where as long as you purchase from them provide free sun beds. Turn left and immediately you will find the little train stop where you can purchase tickets to the local water park as well as other sightseeing trips. I would also highly recommend Nikos Spa. Nikos always gives you a freebie! I had my nails done and eyebrows tinted and waxed, as well as a massage. Very impressed with all my treatments and the kids loved the fishy spa where they fed the fish with the hard skin on their feet! Also on the left are two restaurants, one is a burger bar which you HAVE to try! The other does mean waffles and crepes. Next door to these is a mini golf arcade place. The kids were thrilled to spend time here and us adults were thrilled by the well stocked bar and generous measures!

Good hotel, reasonanble prices.I spent here one week with my children and grandchildren. Hotel is comfortable, my rooms in part B / down floor were large and clean, also bathrooms were in good technical condition. Air condtion was working fine, small refrigerator was sufficient for drinks and fruits. No plate, knife or spoon - I had to buy some cheap stuff in Synka. Long trip to village and beach, but I rent a car and problem disappeared. We took breakfasts in hotel, they are good. Swedish table in Covid version was irritable. You should tell the waiter what you want and in what amount. Meanwhile next person is waiting behind your back... Everyday I found enough food, meaning quality and quantity I like. I can recommend homemade quince confiture or mizithra plus minced tomato with a bit of basilicum. Holidays in Crete are country hollidays for me, I don't need lifts, servants or high comfort. This hotel has very good quality to price ratio, my choice was proper! Even strange rule, I should tell the reception I need room cleaning next day, was acceptable (really strange...)

Amazing stay - Covid safetyWe spent two weeks in this paradise with my family!! Excellent and friendly staff especially the restaurant staff and Neff at the bar! Our room was on the second block with a view of the garden and the palm trees. Very clean! Only 800 meters, from the beach but the hotel offers bus services from the hotel to the main road very often. Great food and services! All the staff follows COVID rules for our safety! A safe place for my kids. One of the best hotels Ive ever visited in the last 10 years. Thank you very much for the nice stay!
