  Great luxury hotel with great services, although dated buildings and rooms

  The Eden Roc is an institution in the Swiss luxury hotel industry, at a prime location in Ascona. As such it's no surprise that the offered services are excellent, some of the best in class. Some of the buildings and rooms are severely dated though, giving the overall impression that the Eden Roc draws on the past. The elderly clientele might be looking for this charm from the 70ies and 80ies, most younger guests probably wish for more modern facilities and rooms however. Considering this, the current room prices are clearly at the upper end. All in all, the Eden Roc offers great value and is very recommendable if and only if you can find a good special offer on any of the online booking platforms. Otherwise, you better don't care about money and value for money at all.

  Perfectionism in all perspectives

  What a beautiful place this is, location, rooms, spa, pools you name it. The room was very nice, clean well maintained, Ive been in fancier rooms, but there was absolutely nothing wrong, bathroom super. We had dinner twice, the first evening part of the package. We were upgraded from the standard 3 course to 5 courses and it was brilliant so we came back the 2nd evening. Breakfast is the best, a small buffet with the standards but in very high quality, but all warm dishes were made separately, crepes, pancakes, eggs benedict, you name it. But the best is yet to come: the staff! THE most friendly and professional, flexibel people. From the receipt at the entrance, reception, restaurant, spa, we even had an apero with the managing director. The staff is what makes this place really 5* superior. We will be back without a doubt!

  Fabulous in every way!

  Spent a long weekend at this fantastic family owned five star hotel on the shore of Lake Maggiore in Ascona. After leaving our car with the staff we were warmly welcomed at reception and the director of the hotel was also on hand to make sure we were being looked after. After check in we were given a quick tour of the hotel to show us where everything was before finally being shown to our lovely generous sized room which had a beautiful view of the lake. During our stay we dined at two of the Hotels four restaurants. Unfortunately the La Casetta seafood Restaurant was fully booked but we werent disappointed, enjoying a fabulous salted Sea Bass in the Eden Roc Restaurant. The following evening we enjoyed a set menu at the La Brezza Michelin Star restaurant. Also recommended is the Hotels Spa that has wonderful staff and treatments. Highly recommended for a romantic weekend away. I would book without Breakfast though and have breakfast in one of the many cafes only metres away on the lake front.

  One Night and One Day at the Eden Roc

  Overall our experience was very pleasant even though we had only stayed for 24 hours. The spa with sauna and steam was amazing and we have also enjoyed our massages. While the overall service and staff attendance was excellent, the rooms and some facilities could use an upgrade. Our bed was squeaking and made for a not so well rested night. Minus this little and easy fixable problem we can highly recommend this hotel and will come back.

  Full of surprises

  When you arrive at the hotel youll be sure youve been scammed..but the simple unassuming exterior hides a very different, elegant and beautiful entrance with views directly over the water. Staff are faultless and every effort was taken to makes us feel safe and welcome with Covid. The spa treatments were wonderfully relaxing (thank you Sarah and Shona) and the restaurants were outstanding (reserve in advance!). Free minibar. Wonderfully nearby to the charming fishing village of Ascona. Unfortunately I hadnt taken the time to check room tips beforehand, and our bedroom and outside patio was directly alongside an open car park, so bear that in mind if you are placed in the marina section, and dont assume that not taking a lake view room will offer an otherwise pleasant town or garden view. Small bathroom with a single basin, and a separate single sized bedroom. A gem of a hotel, but choose your room wisely.
