New Year Escape in JesoloWe stayed at the Hotel Eden in Piazza Mazzini in Jesolo. The hotel is very modern and the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of a cooked breakfast or continental. We would highly recommend this hotel either in the summer or winter for a holiday.

Good location but could be a lot betterWe have just returned from a 1 week stay at the Eden hotel. 2 adults and 2 teenagers (13 & 15). We were initially given a duplex room (misunderstanding with our travel agent) which we soon changed as it offered no privacy, TV didnt work, the terrace was large but had no lighting & the wooden decking was in need of replacement. There was only 1 wardrobe for 4 people to share on the upper level plus 1 bathroom on this too. The layout just didnt work for us and the teens were not keen to share a bed. We were awoken at 5am due to a power cut and lots of noise outside. The following morning we moved to an upgraded room in the corner of the 3rd floor (314). This room had 2 balconies. Plus a dbl sofa bed and a separate dbl bedroom which also had a single bed in it. We moved the single bed out the bedroom beside the sofa bed so the adults could have their own room but meant we had very little space. There were 2 balconies, one small one to the front street off the bedroom and another very large balcony to the side of the building. A great large space but only had 1 sun lounger plus a table and 2 chairs, that you could not use as they were badly sun damaged and covered your skin and clothing in lots of flakes of white paint! A real let down as we would have loved to have used this space more. Air con is in the room but its not very powerful. The one bathroom was clean & spacious and the shower very good and powerful. Could have benefited from an additional shower room to better accommodate 4 people! The upgraded room was not worth the extra 160 we had to pay for it!! We had breakfast included and the selection was good, hot and cold food but not very clear in what you need to do as it was previously a buffet but now you point to the food you want and the servers pass it to you on a plate to take back to your table. Table service would have worked a lot better. We wanted to take advantage of visiting some of the local attractions however the reception staff were not very helpful in providing local information, when I asked the receptionist about directions to the inflatable water park, she had not heard if it despite having leaflets in their reception area for guests. I was also shocked to discover that there are no bureau de change facilities for changing currency at all in Jesolo, not even in any bank. This is not a small town its a beach city!! Very strange! The hotel did adhere to social distancing and masks are worn in all common areas in the hotel by staff and guests. The hotel is well cleaned. Lots of hand sanitizers are available for guests to use. The pool area is nice and was not often too busy. There were jets on the small pool but unfortunately we could not get them to work. Beware if you have a room to the front/sides of the building as from the hours of 7pm to around 2am most night especially weekends its super busy & very loud due to the high volumes of people outside, mainly large groups of loud teenagers everywhere! Anyone would struggle to sleep through the street noise, then it starts again around 5am when the refuse collection trucks come out! We used the beach loungers supplied by the Eden hotel (2 loungers per room) they are in a good location on the beach. The beach is lovely but was very very busy and highly populated! Sand is super soft and the sea clean! Our biggest concern about this hotel was that they have little regard for their guests security! The room is cleaned everyday, however, after mopping the floors the cleaners leave both balcony doors open! One of the balconies is connected to another 3 guest rooms and can very easily and safely be accessed! We told the receptionist that we would like our doors kept closed after and she apologised and said this was very unusual! However, the next day it happened again and when we spoke to the manager he made excuses about this having to be done to help dry the wet floor! Totally unacceptable and I asked for no further cleaning to be done as I preferred to stay safe and we were leaving the following day. Overall we had a good time in Jesolo despite covid restrictions and the fact it was very very busy, the location of this hotel is very central in the main piazza Mazzini but this hotel could be so much better. The hotel lacks luxury and comfort and they need new balcony furniture urgently!
