    Sufficient but not great

Staff didnt speak great English and when we had issue gaining access to the property around 11pm, one rainy night, we discovered that the reception was not attended at night. The rooms are Not actually air conditioned, only water cooled, so we had to leave our window open, so there was a bit of noise from the trains and terrace below. The steep and narrow road to the property is reasonably treacherous, note there are two ways up, one is slightly wider! It is worth booking the south facing rooms which do have views to some terraced vineyards and over the city, (across train tracks). The rooms at the back look into a rock face. The WiFi could be a little sketchy. On the positive side, There is a hot tub and large lounge area/ library and childrens play area, as well as an extensive outdoor terrace. The breakfast was excellent. There is a hotel shuttle to the town, 4 times a day and there is free parking.

Really Run Hotel Maybe Best Breakfast Buffet

Small, well run hotel above Bolzano. Breakfast buffet and view might be best I have ever experience. Management (probably one of the owners) got my wife an emergency dentist appointment and saved our vacation.

    would never return

view of the city is nice ...thats it...person on the front desk in the afternoon was less than curteous including pretending to not understand conversation when later she understood very well what we were saying /arguemntative ,,,unfortunately she is also a waitress and she rolled her eyes when she was obviously told she needed to wait on us,,,so we left.. ,,the room was very very tiny, was told room temperature controls"don't work(!)" and the management apparently is not bothered by drinking patrons sitting on their balcony at 12 midnight hooting it up..unfortunately they were in the next room to ours,,,the drive into this place is a twisty path for nothing short of a toy car ,,,the underground garage(the only place to park for hotel guests) a small box that tests even the best driving skills when attempting to extract the car,,,nothing short of a nightmare

    hard to stay objective.

We felt very comfortable in and with our room , so it's hard to stay objective. The view from our suite was amazing , with sight over de City and mountains.. some parts of the hotel are somewhat outdated , old and dirty in some places , for sure these out of sight , and they need attention. The whole feeling is not a Four star place. Concerning breakfast in "buffet style" I can be short, below average. we were totally disgusted by the industrial bake off bread and pies. fortunately the coffee was of a reasonable quality. The charcuterie was also good, but the ham was not always of the same quality and also the eggs in the chafing dish were awful. it was possible to cook an egg yourself.... luckily... An added value was that there was always freshly cut fruit for the yoghurt. The underground car park is a plus and practical, with charging points for electric vehicles I hope they will improve these things as it could be a nice hotel , taking into account the location and the beautiful road that leads you through the vineyards. We had a bit of a yin and yang feeling here , this during the entire stay !

    Stunning views

This hotel is up a mountain overlooking the town, and as such the view is absolutely stunning. It has a beautiful terrace, the cable car passes just above and to your left you can see the Dolomites. We arrived at night during Christmas market season, and so seeing Bolzano all lit up below was amazing, but nothing compared to the view that greeted us in the morning. The staff were very courteous and helpful, the hotel was the perfect temperature throughout in my opinion. We only ate breakfast there which was good, with great coffee, local breads and meats and fresh juice. There is a lovely walk down to Bolzano which took us around 20 mins. At night we used the taxi rank at the station to get back up to the hotel, and you can take the hotel shuttle down to the station in the morning. We didn't travel with our children, but the play area on the first floor is a nice addition for families. We have decided to come back next year already!
