Giro d'ItaliaWe arrive arround 10u in the morning in this beautifull resort. It's situated a little higher so you can enjoy a nice view. There is a big parking for free. The restaurant is in a beautifull room and the food is really good. The resort is in a historical building but in good condition. Good place to stay a few days.

Scenic resortWe are a family of five and stayed in a traditional apartment for 10 days in August. Quite a nice resort set high on a hill side about a 40-minute drive from Palermo airport. Appartments vary greatly as my wife's sister and her family of five had a much larger apartment than us for the same price. Our apartment was very small. The door didn't lock properly and it took two days for it to be fixed properly. Resort staff generally very friendly and helpful but slow to sort anything out. 50-metre swimming pool very good but one member of the pool side cafe was quite rude on one occasion when he saw us eating our own food despite Sicilian holiday makers doing the same thing every day and not being told that they couldn't bring their own food - we only did so because we had seen Sicilians doing so! I would recommend having a car as the resort is too far to walk to the sea or other restaurants. Food on site is quite good value but limited choice. Resort mostly used by Sicilians. Resort was kept clean and tidy but our cleaner didn't turn up until day eight.

Never AgainThis beautiful 18th C sprawling hotel has rooms ranged around various courtyards, but without adequate comfortable seating areas if one wants to sit outside. Public areas were also attractive. A good weather hotel only, because one has to go outside to go to reception/bar or to the dining room and the distance various depending on room location. Only public WiFi. No assistance offered in finding room or taking baggage upstairs no lifts (2/3 stories). It has extensive gardens, but the gate was always locked so guests were not able to wander within. My single room was very small with an extremely narrow window. The furniture was solid wood in keeping with the style of the hotel; wardrobe, chest of drawers, a chair and a stool. No air con but central heating. One could describe it as rustic. The TV was on top of the empty minibar. No room safe. Small TV but useless if one doesnt speak Italian. The lighting was not good and therefore impossible to read in bed. It was not a room one would want to spend time in. Purely functional; one spends the day out and returns to shower and sleep. The bathroom was small and dated with the usual facilities including a bidet; water did not flow quickly from the shower base so one had to be careful it didnt overflow, i.e. quick shower. The outweighing deficit was noise: one could hear all the sanitation noises from neighbouring rooms; toilet, shower, wash basin, refilling hot water tank, also neighbours talking and their alarms. The minibar grumbled, but because it was empty, it could be turned off. Cleaning could be improved on. The rooms do vary, however, from allegedly a room without a window to those that had windows opening on to a courtyard thereby creating privacy problems to spacious elegant private rooms. On the day before departure, my room had not been locked after cleaning (key locks). The buffet dinner was generally good (large selection of vegetables) and varied, except the hot dishes were never hot, at best lukewarm and rarely good. Breakfast was okay except for the last morning: before the official breakfast time a group had breakfasted and at 7am it looked like locusts had been through; very little to eat including no bread or hot water. Having experienced previously how many requests it required to replenish anything, I gave breakfast a miss. The coffee was always undrinkable. I dont expect a big breakfast buffet (we are in Italy after all), but I do expect good coffee and something to eat particularly at the commencement of the official breakfast time. Some restaurant staff did seem to try; however, there was general inefficiency perhaps from the side of the kitchen. Possible that the hotel was also understaffed. The hotel is not close to the sea being situated in the hills of Trabia along a winding road with nothing in the area, making a car absolutely necessary, and is not optimal if you want to visit historic sites. This hotel also had a strange atmosphere; not a pleasant place to stay; one did not feel welcome. I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT OUT OF HIGH SEASON and would not stay there again.

Breakfast without brad...you can cry but it wont helpFor the breakfast they serve only sweet food. Ok they have two kinds of salami and cheese but they dont have fresh brad. They have only hard and dry toast. That is a shame for hotel with four stars. I wish them that they get better in short...

Very oruginal and beautiful site .It was Markiz palaceThe place is unique , beautiful . Food and service of stuff excellent but there is trouble of noise in the rooms 1 st floor in the Patio. The walls are probably too thin and every time your neighbor opens the shower iy is heard loudly.
