    Good but too much expensive

It is a good hotel, with a nice restaurant on top, but, may be like almost everything in Luanda is too expensive... I had a problem with hot water (is wasn't hot) and it wasn't solved in the three nights I was there...

    Awful!

Arrived at the hotel in October 2013 as a business traveler. The rooms are neat as are the facilities. The biggest issue was that there was no water pressure at all to take a bath. (no shower in room) after waiting +-45 mins the bath was filled with ice cold water about 10-20cm high and had floating debris in it resembling human waste. I reported this and no resolution was made, as "there was a plumbing problem". The dinner is ridiculously expensive around $50+ a night excluding drinks. Food is presented as a buffet with little to no great variety. If you opt for alternatives to seafood like me (as I'm allergic) a trip to Casa do Frescos *spelling* is advised as I allege the "steak" is recycled daily, based on whatever is not eaten. It was a painful week in Angola at this facility. Sadly I had no choice! At one evening meal I paid in dollars and they had no change, was promised change never occurred. I do not recommend this place at all! Rather pay for a better facility. Can recommend the local Kentucky Fried Chicken as decent food.

    Hotel with a view

Rather low quality hotel room interior but view from the top floor dining place compensates this - it overlooks the lagoon. Hotel staff tries hard. Shower room extremely small. Room interiors are worn out and some of the furniture might be missing. Access from the hotel by walking to lagoon beach area where one can find few restaurants.

    Needs some tlc

After driving around the area where the hotel was supposed to be (from the address my driver was given) for an hour, we finally stumbled upon it at 10pm local time. Make sure that you have proper directions or the use of Google maps! Imagine my sense of humour failure when the receptionist told me that they had no booking for me or proof of payment by the travel agent! Fortunately he accepted the voucher that the travel agent had issued and agreed to give me a room. The 1st room I was given had a faulty aircon. I was then moved to room number 2 where I decided to remain because I didn't have the strength to crawl down to reception to complain again. The room I was given was very sparsely furnished. So sparse in fact that pillowcases were not included, although they did make a welcome appearance on the 2nd night! Other delights included: a desk with no chair, curtains that didn't close properly, broken bedside lamps, a weird synthetic type material disguised as sheets, a toilet that battled to flush away more than a tissue, a teeny, tiny shower cubicle, no hot water and a shower nozzle that sprayed water in every direction except onto my body! Dinner was a treat. I was the only guest in the dining room seated next to a window with a blind on it so that you couldn't see out (apparently a view of the sea is not important). The waiter spoke very little English. Fortunately Coke is part of a universal language so I was guaranteed a drink. There was no menu. The choice was...chicken or beef. I kid you not. I am not making this up. I could have it with rice or potatoes. And an egg. It was edible but tasteless. When I stay at places like this I always ask myself why I didn't read the TripAdvisor reviews first!

    Hotel with extremes

When I entered my room I was firstly welcomed by 50-60 mosquitoes which I single handedly killed myself. Some of the furniture in the room was missing. Shower room was so small that you had to back up in order to get into it. Water sprayed from the shower hose everywhere else than it was intended to. Food at the hotel restaurant is extremely expensive and poorly done. Having said all of this, one has to put this into overall context of what is available. Hotel is not that bad after initial hickups were corrected and you have adjusted your expectations to a right level. Beer is served cold at the restaurant which is located at top floor facing the sea. New beach promenade is being constructed which hosts currently at least one restaurant. You need to judge yourself where to stay - probably grass is not greener on the other side...
