A lovely stayThank you for a lovely relaxing weekend stay. Staff all welcoming and polite, very nice to have a cheery Good morning! Called to us from reception whenever we walked past. We had not reserved a car parking space, but when we arrived a member of staff ran put and removed a bollard to enable us to park. £10 for 24 hours outside your front door is very good for Harrogate. Breakfast was excellent- prompt service, all good quality food and drinks, brought to our table. One morning the poached eggs were cold, though! We had one evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed it - again the service was good and the food was nice. Our deluxe room got a bit chilly and it would have been nice to see through the windows as it gave onto the front of the hotel. The toiletries and tea/coffee things were lovely. We asked for the room to be serviced and that was no problem. The only thing we would suggest is it is a little time consuming and irritating to have to complete track and trace on entry to the restaurant. We don't take our mobile phones with us to the restaurant and it meant standing for a while reading out our email address etc before we could go in, and this seemed a bit unnecessary when the hotel already had our full details. We've stayed at several hotels during test and trace, and usually the details are just copied over. Thank you for a lovely weekend and we will certainly be back!

Slightly disappointed unfortunatelyMe and my boyfriend stayed here for our Christmas break, after recently staying in the Hotel Du Vin in Edinburgh. As always the bathroom's in these hotels are brilliant with the monsoon shower and the roll-top bath, but the room itself was a little bit of a let down. Firstly, the room hadn't been cleaned properly (we found a mcdonalds ketchup sticker on the floor, as well as another sticker in the bed), the lift wasn't always working, we had an issue with the lights in our room and it took a good 7-8 tries on trying to ring room service. This just is not what you expect from a Hotel of this standard and though we understand the pandemic puts a strain on everyone, we are slightly disappointed as we were so looking forward to it and saved a lot of money to visit. Whilst this review has a negative tone, the beds are large and comfortable, the staff are friendly, great location, and the room was spacious, maybe our experience was just an isolated one, but nontheless we had higher expectations.

UnimpressedBooked a last minute pre Christmas getaway in one the best suites in the hotel. Upon walking through the hotel front door the place just lacked any kind of atmosphere and felt cold and unwelcoming. Nobody to greet you at all. We noticed one receptionist tucked away in the corner and that was it. We proceeded to check in and the girl on the desk demanded full payment straight away before we had even set foot in the room which I found a bit odd even though they had my card details when I booked. The suite on the top floor although spacious looked a bit dated and required some TLC...small sash windows let in very little light and luke warm water when running a bath wasn't ideal. Also, a fellow guests used room service plates left outside our room / lift by the cleaners most of the morning is really unacceptable from a 4 star establishment. On the plus side the bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast the following morning was lovely but doubt I'd be rushing back

Thirsty Girls Xmas GetawayWe were very impressed with the hotel and the initial check in process. You are never sure what to expect with the pandemic, but warm and friendly check in from reception. There is some parking at hotel, but from experience it's very limited and you are charged £10 a night. There are a couple of long term car parks much cheaper that a a five minute walking distance and would advise to use those. Booked a suite and was really blown away . Huge big room on two levels. Comfy bed, huge bathroom with L'Occitane toiletries. Roll top bath and monsoon shower. Nice little touches. Breakfast great. dinner in the bistro ,the one person that stood out for me was Steven. He totally saved the experience , the service in there was lacking ,most of the staff did not look like they knew what they were doing . Ordered a bramble and it took them ten minutes to say they did not have the ingredients, then they did not have any Hendricks gin, our Mains came before the drinks did. Had to ask three times for our white wine that when did arrive , was warm. Not very nice. Steven came over and he swung into action and rectified everything and turned the night and our stay into a triumph. Unflappable and his experience and personality shines through . Loved our stay here and would not hesitate to come back. Thanks guys.
