  Great views across the bay

  We stayed here some years ago and the place is little changed. The rooms are small and not very exciting. The food here was good and the staff were friendly. I think the place was overpriced, but perhaps that was due to high season. Parking is not good and costs 10 euros if you can find somewhere. The town needs to reorganise car parking to make it a more pleasant experience.

  Good overnight stop

  We stayed overnight here on our way south. Pleasantly surprised at the location and how pretty the view across the bay is - request when choosing a room. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful. The hotel is great for an overnight stop but wouldnt choose it as a venue destination. Helpful staff and a great breakfast bar excellent choice and good quality food. Would definitely use this hotel again on our way south.

  HORRIBLE HOTEL charged my credit card and I didn't even stay there!

  I booked this hotel in August, provided my credit card details on the phone. I never received email confirmation and when I called back, said they did not have my booking but if I would like to book I would have to pay for the whole package which included dinner. I said no thank you and booked another hotel (Chateau Noyelles, highly recommend). Hotel du Port Bains went ahead and charged my credit card and when I called back they played dumb, I even sent numerous emails, ignored! Have now escalated to my credit card fraud department but wanted to post this review for anyone who is considering this hotel, this is dishonest disgusting what they have done!

  Use of the bar facilities

  The 1 star is a review for the bar part. Terrace with a few empty tables looked like a nice spot for a drink. A not english speaking waiter tried to tell us: NOT only drinks, must eat!! At least i already used the toilets. These were 3 stars. Hospitaty 0 star.

  Very expensive for poor quality

  The beds were uncomfortable- tiny single beds with cheap mattresses. Room noisy. Shower head broken. Hotel cheaply furnished and decorated. Restaurant unattractive and coffee revolting. The hotel is right on the road where cars stream by and parking nearby is very difficult. The hotel charges were far higher than elsewhere in France in four star hotels. We were charged 15 for the dog!
