  Excelente hotel

  Muy buen hotel, súper recomendable. Tiene una excelente ubicación y la gastronomía que ofrecen es de muy buen nivel, tanto el desayuno que ofrecen como las cenas. Las cenas no están incluidas en la estadía,pero igualmente son económicas para el menú que ofrecen.

  Lovely hotel!

  Had a lovely week's stay at the Drago. View from the room was amazing, we travelled with Newmarket holidays and the excursions were great. We really enjoyed it. Ignore previous reviews about the manager being rude and unpleasant he was absolutely fine! every time we saw him he was very pleasant and said hello! If we ever return to lake garda we would stay here again. Thank you!

  Good hotel.

  A good small hotel with friendly staff. We had a room with a lakeside view, which was stunning. Very clean throughout. reasonable prices at the bar, and good food served in the restaurant. We hope to repeat our visit soon.

  Nice small hotel in Assenza

  Hotel Drago (during Covid). Very pleasant small hotel on the outskirts of Malcesine. Restaurant and bar area and reception are comfortable and clean. Pool area and terrace very nice, shower cap is needed to go in for a swim. No hotel bar service around the pool at this time, drinks can be purchased from bar across the road. Breakfast available from 07.30 and is very good, bread rolls, crackers small cake/croissant, jams, cheese spread and choice of eggs, ham/salami, cheese and fruit salad, which you have to ask for, and coffee . Dinner served from 18.30 until approx 20.30 and is excellent, lots of small portions, salad, soup, pasta, fish, meat and dessert. Always hot which is a bonus for anyone used to A.I. buffets! Wine 18-22 a bottle, no table water only bottle water which is about 2.20. All meals served at table and you must always sit in the same place. Air con appears to come on at approx 17.50 and go off at 07.15 . You have to take room key with you when you go out, can't leave at reception. WiFi fairly good and free. As a solo guest i had a single room, which although on the small side was quite adequate....fridge was useful however no tea or coffee making facilities so own kettle needed if required. Shower good and room cleaned every day and fresh towels . All the staff were helpful and polite. Good bus service to Malcesine but not always easy to pre purchase bus ticket at local shop..ticket must be validated on the bus. The 3 mile walk to Malcesine, (the main hub) is lovely, takes just over an hour, follow the lake path. Be aware of cycles though.. Local Spar supermarket is good for everyday items. For more comprehensive food shopping the Spar behind the bus station in Malcesine is good. If you would like to cruise the lake down south to Garda/Bardolino pick up the boat from Brenzone which is a shorter walk from the hotel, approx 25 minutes.....ticket is purchased on the boat....they prefer card payment. The walk from Garda to Bardolino is quite nice if you have the time as is the walk from Torbole to Riva at the north end of the lake, picking up the boat from Malcesine. Limone is also a very pretty place to visit. The funivia from Malcesine to Monte Baldo is a must and can be booked online to avoid queuing in peak times. Lake Garda feels very covid safe and also very safe wandering around but be aware if visiting Venice or Verona as typical of other cities with regard to pickpockets!

  Newmarket Holidays at Hotel Drago

  Good place to stay. Single room very pleasant with balcony and the food was great and abundant. Do not stay there if you are on a diet! The two women in the restaurant worked very hard and were very helpful. The same cannot be said of the manager who looked miserable and was at times rude. Fortunately his sister who manned reception was very pleasant.My only criticism was that the bar was closed. There is one across the road, but you do not always feel like going out again to have a cup of coffee or a drink. Also, the only available TV channel in English was CNN. Why? I did not see any Americans at the hotel. BBC should be available. Regarding Lyn, our tour leader, she was very efficient and helpful and always supplied us with plenty of information on the various places we visited. I was surprised to read the unfavourable report posted last year. All in all, I would recommend Hotel Drago and the tour.
