    Ok for a night near airport

    We arrived to the hotel and were a little shocked since the whole back part of the hotel was a construction site. As soon we entered to the reception, there was a terrible smell of sewage in the whole area. Breakfast is good and the restoran is in the pub that acts as a pub in the afternoon. During breakfast the workers started their impact drills on the construction site and you can feel and hear all the noise in the hotel. When arriving to the hotel, first you see is a big pile of construction material dumped from the hotel. The bathroom is a little bit cramped and you need to get used to open the doors and close them to get into the shower or use the sink.

    Great - but with one concern

    We enjoyed our short stay at Hotel Diplomat. The room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was very good, with quite a number of options. What you need to note is that this is not a centrally located hotel in a way that you'll be able to walk out and see the sights - but it is just a 10-minute drive from the city center and a 5-minute walk from a great mall. One thing that might be of a cause for concern to those staying there during the weekend is that there is a pub on the ground floor that can be heard throughout the hotel when there's live music. Unless you don't have sleep issues or you have really good ear plugs, this hotel might not be the best weekend option.

    Good hotel for business trips

    I stayed here in may last business trip in Zagreb - nice rooms, nice staff, ok breakfast. Is a bit far from the city center (20min drive) but there are some buses that you can use to travel. Around 15min walk there is a big shopping mall. I did not see any other supermarkets, is more an office building area.

    Okay but not as expected

    Our group of 11 family members stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our vacation trip. It appeared that only the rear section of the hotel was open for business, and that the remainder was under renovation. The 5 rooms (3 couples/1 twin/1 triple) we were given seemed clean but were much smaller than we expected, and the beds for the 3 couples were barely double-size. A couple of the bathrooms had only tubs, no showers, and those that did have a shower stall leaked badly, although we tried to be very conscious of this and direct the nozzle appropriately. The staff was pleasant overall, and although their English (and our Croation!) was limited, we were generally able to figure things out. As other reviewers have noted, this hotel was located a fair distance from the downtown area.

    One night

    It was a good night, the staff was very kind, but in my opinion this is not a four stars hotel, its a three. The breakfast wasnt so varied, they should be more careful with the freshness of the food, the pineapple was rotten. The room was not so luxuriant like I was expecting, but for one night was ok.
