    Nothing special

it is ok if you are during a business trip with your car, you park in front of the hotel and you go to sleep. The hotel and the rooms are nothing special, quite anonymous. The bed is small and not very comfortable. The centre is at 15 minutes' walking distance and the walk is quite enjoyable, so I'd say that the location is quite good. The lady at the reception advised us to eat at Restaurant Chasseur in the centre, it was a good advice, we had a nice dinner.

    Very Average, But Not Terrible

Stayed overnight while on business neaby the following day. A very pleasant drive around the shores of Lake Geneva culminated in my arriving at the hotel after dark, and considering how it looked, that may not have entirely been a bad thing. From the outside, the hotel looks pretty tired, though the car park is sizable and clean, and the site stands at the edge of what appears to be a high-rise residential area. On entering, the front desk was empty, and I needed to wait while the reception staff put down whatever they were doing in a separate office, crossed the hall and came to check me in. The hotel had already taken payment prior to arrival (this is within their rights as it was through Booking.com - just make sure you check your statement so you don't pay twice), and the receptionist told me they would only be chargng me city tax and breakfast (if desired - CHF15) tomorrow. It was late, I was tired, and I just wanted to get to my room. The rooms were pretty basic, though quite clean. The twin beds were little better than camp beds, but were quite comfortable an didn't detract from sleep, and the bathroom had all the necessary amenities while not quite managing to be chic in the way it presented them. The wifi, however, was a problem. A quick speed check revealed that the download was below 1mbps (considerably slower than the upload, strangely enough), and this meant that my VPN connection kept dropping in and out while I tried to attend to my work emails. Not ideal for a business stopover hotel. There was no restaurant on site, and while the nearest one was only a fifteen minute walk into town, I decided that I could wait until breakfast rather than braving an unknown residential area after dark on foot. The bar, as it was described, was in fact the other side of the reception desk - there was a single beer tap, and the rest was bottles. I didn't bother to partake, but I possibly should have - no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was probably the best part of the stay - a reasonable european spread with coffee, patisserie, cold cuts, cereals, juices and all the trimmings. After leaving off the previous night, this was very welcome and very pleasant, and the croissant at least tasted like it was freshly cooked. After a very average stay, I actually left quite sated and looking forward to my day. The breakfast alone isn't enough to justify going back, but I won't condemn the place entirely - it didn't claim to be anything it wasn't, and at least gave me a bed, a shower, a means of steaming my shirt and a good breakfast. I might try somewhere else in the future, however.

Pity there isn't another 'hotel' in Orbe

Very ordinary. Shabby rooms, and not very welcoming staff. It's miles from anywhere to get food in the evening. You need to like walking or have a car. ( the last bus is around 19:30...) Only good point is the Boxer beer in the reception...

    Home away from home

Had a great one night stay. The new owners took over the hotel just at the beginning of this month and they are absolutely amazing. They accomodated our running group, dealing with constant changes from our side and are extremely polite! They even organized transport for us to our race! Yes, there is nobody at the reception after 23h, but this is what you should expect in any small hotel around the world. Rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast is good and they are not in a hurry to take it away Definitely recommend this hotel!

Restaurant really worth the visit. Big Changes

The Hotel is recently under new management and a really making some excellent changes in the restaurant and bar areas, inside the restaurant is nice and modern but very warm and cozy. There is also a nice terrace on the side of hotel, it is small slope. The food is excellent and nicely presented it make a pleasure to look at the plate. We have eaten there a few times over the last few months and it has always been excellent. Very friendly service a pleasure to go there, they also make a midday menu that is very good and reasonable. We will be going back for certain,. Plenty of parking We have not stayed at the hotel so can not say about the rooms.
