  The beauty of small town

  We stayed at the Hotel Degli Ulivi for a few nights in August. We were in town with family to celebrate San Rocco. We arrived late afternoon after driving 10 hours from Treviso, we quickly went to our rooms to freshen up and decided to stay there for dinner. Our meal was good, wine list was OK. We stayed up to walk around the hotel (small hotel so not much walking to do). The hotel literally shuts down at 11pm, if you go out they tell you to use the side door when you arrive as the main door is locked. This may bother some people but we were fine with it. Breakfast is your standard Continental spread, there is something for everyone. We never stayed for lunch so I cant comment on that. You have to understand that you are in a very small town, it is the only hotel in the area, it is not the Ritz BUT it is a quaint place to stay. You will se the owner in the front lobby on most days, greeting guests and making sure everything is running smoothly. I enjoyed my stay, I will return and look forward to staying a few days and enjoying the views.

  Stop for one night

  At the motorcycle tour stop in ferrandina in the hotel. Beautiful plant with many olive trees. Rooms are spacious and clean. Spa was not used by us. The dinner was not a highlight service accordingly. Breakfast buffet adequate but not outstanding. Good enough for a night's sleep.

  1 star experience

  We stayed here for two days traveling thru Puglia. We arrived around noon and we were happy the receptionist would make our room available in 10 minutes. That was the last positive experience here. We had lunch in the hotel restaurant and we were given food. The staff seemed to be trained to do just the bare minimum and smiles were not part of the minimum. I mostly recommend Italy for the hospitality everywhere, but this place is the exception to proof that point. It was not possible to get a second chair for use on the balcony. On the question whether the swimming pool was open: they just shrugged their shoulder. No pride in what they have to offer. Ignorance to the desires of their guests. If you don't want to work there, then don't. Do not take it out on your guests.

  Terrible

  There is air conditioning but not working. You get hot air from airco. Outside 18 C airco gives you... nothing. How can you sleep in 27-28 deg C? Reception tells one, doing somenthin else. The first but also the last night in this hotel. No lift in the building. Very small bathroom with toilet hidden behind the waschtable. For acrobats only. Many damages in the batchroom, btw. shower is not usefull.

  Service is so bad its laughable

  Went to the spa with a friend and despite continuously telling them that the water in the hot tub is cold they couldnt have cared less. The staff at the front desk useless and more concerned to use the hotels phone to call friends and do everything but help customers. If the owner wants to do something useful he needs to get rid of the staff and start from scratch. Its a shame because the spa has some good potential.
