Nice hotel in a great locationHotel faces the ocean, with one of Le Croisic's beaches to one side. It's a little outside the main town, which is ten minutes walk away, and all the better for being away from the bustle. It's a small property, only about ten rooms, and therefore very personal. All the receptionists were excellent and friendly, but we were made particualrly welcome by Anne-Sophie. We had a very spacious and well-equipped room with a huge terrace, overlooking the ocean and the beach. There are two restaurants, the Bistro and the main restaurant. Bistro is good, main restaurant is more expensive, pretentious and really no better. One complaint was the wifi. You need a code and password for each separate device you want to log on. And each time you leave the property and then return to it, you have to reenter the (long and complicated) password. Apparently you can download an app to save the data, but why on earth do you have to go through this faff?

Extraordinary viewsBeautiful rooms, very large and very clean. We were given an upgrade which was extremely nice. Room 205 has two balconies. Terrific for sitting and reading. Great suggestions from staff about to see in the area. The bistro was terrific fir dinner. Breakfast had a great variety too.

Unique, and Mostly SatisfyingThe hotel gets the big things right: caring staff, exceptional location, two fine restaurants, very clean and generally comfortable room with a lovely porch, close by parking at the small public square across from the hotel. A few things, perhaps minor, are still annoying. They are fixable and would make the Excellent score fully deserved. By the way, the buffet breakfast was better than average, although at the price, we would prefer to be served. With the long dining room, it takes three or four trips to cart everything one needs to a table. Both days, the orange juice was gone by 9:15. While English language visitors may be in the minority, having at least one English language news channel on the television would be appreciated and is quite common in superior hotels these days. This is a problem I have with big hotels chains too-open Wifi, unsecured, is a risk that the guest should not have to incur. The bathroom would be enough reason for me to look elsewhere. Having no vertical panel in the bath for the shower device is annoying. It has been a long time since I had to take a "Navy Shower": rinse; turn the water off; soap; turn the water on. Unless you have three hands, you can't use the wand without doing this. Not having a vertical bar along the wall makes getting in and out of the deep tub a risk too. The lighting in the bathroom would be fine for someone in a wheelchair or 5 feet tall or under. The lights next to the mirror are too low, and by the way, most of us like to shave or put makeup on both sides, not in half shadow. There is a special place in hell for the designers of track lighting that looks good in a picture and is of little use in a real situation. The cube shaped faucets at the sinks and in the tub are awkward, poorly direct the temperature and water flow, look cheap and probably won't last. That would be a good thing. I understand why you want people to enter the hotel through the restaurant/hotel lobby, not the door marked hotel. In some ways, that is good for security, but not if you had to exit the hotel in a hurry (fire or other emergency). Update your outdoor signage and make sure the door across from the elevator opens to the outside...quickly when needed. This is a charming hotel that easily could be a bit better.

Fantastic views, beautiful food, great serviceFour of us had lunch at the restaurant, not the bistro. The views over rocks and the ocean are fantastic. The service was impeccable. The food was beautifully presented and exquisite in taste. Dessert was scrumptious too, three of us ordered soufflés, all cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is calm and quiet and allows for peaceful conversation. The courses are expensive but as a special treat this restaurant could not be recommended more highly.
