Nice stay during triathlon weekendI booked 2 nights long time in advance for the stay during the triathlon of Gerardmer. I was welcomed by very nice staff. One of the women is German and perfectly bilingual. The hotel is very close to restaurants and the lake where the competition takes place. The simple room + breakfast booked long time ahead was affordable. The room is comfortable but it can be noisy if you have loudly behaving neighbors cause the walls are very thin. I could take my bike in the room but they also have a locked storage room for bikes. The breakfast is big but mostly consists in defreezed products. Good juice and fresh coffee are offered which is the most important. I could cancel 1 night without any fees. After the race I went back to get my bag and I could even take a shower for free. All in all very recommended!

Nice stay, but some improvements possibleWe stayed with our family for 3 nights end of January 2019. All in all we had a pleasant experience. Just a few constructive remarks. Breakfast is served until 10 am and we mostly arrived around 9. The breakfast area was still very busy. Unfortunately some of the items on the buffet were empty and not refilled or added. Eg. 2 days in a row there were no scrambled eggs anymore. When I mentioned this to one of the waiters he went to the kitchen and came back with an ICECOLD refill, 'because it came from the fridge' !! Also the water to boil your eggs was not hot enough, so the result was not great either... . The restaurant (for diner) is decent and food was good. Unfortunately, it came so fast. Starter, main course, cheese and dessert ... all done in a bit more than one hour... (every evening). We even got our starters before we had our drinks on the table. Diner should be a relaxing experience, not a rush... On the positive side, staff is very friendly, rooms are nice with very comfortable beds. I drive an electrical car (Tesla) and staff did their utmost to make it possible for me to charge during our stay. It did not work out unfortunately but they told me that it was planned to install 2 EV chargers this year ! Good news !!

Pretty GoodWe stayed for just one night, after a last minute booking. We were shown to a very nice first floor room with a balcony over the side street but a tiny bathroom. Unfortunately the air con on the whole of the first and second floors was out of action and the temperature was close to 30 degrees. Why they expected us to accept this is beyond me but eventually we were all relocated to more modern rooms on the top floor where the air con was working. These modern rooms were perfectly comfortable and acceptable. We did not dine in, and perhaps that was our mistake as the menu looked good. We were pleased that our group could all park in the hotel's private car park but beware, spaces are limited and in peak periods that may be tricky. A good stopover hotel

Comfortable, European hotel with great service and amenitiesA boutique type hotel in the resort village of Gérardmer I was part of a group that visited WWII battle sites and we stayed in the hotel as a base of operations. A small hotel with European standards, the room was comfortable. Pros: Great service, staff room is comfortable with firm bed, small fridge, and hot water pot with instant coffee and tea Great breakfast in the morning fresh bread (croissant, pastries, I ate too much), fruits, cold cuts, yogurt typical European fare that will provide fuel for the day Bar in hotel serves a variety of great French wine and decent selection of beer. Cons: No clock so you will need to use your phone for your alarm There seems to be only two outlet to use to charge your devices each are located under the lamps located next to the bed In the resort village, there are many places to stay, if ever in the area again, I will stay in the property again.
