  Beautiful place

  This was my first stay in the inner part of Austria. I was amazed about the beauty of the nature, the guest friendly people (prefer in the hotel). We really like hiking, and walking through nice places like this. Our room were fantastic, with an amazing view of the mountains, just next to the Thermen park, where we have had a nice stay, its totally feels refreshing. Bad Gastein is in walking distance, its just half an hour to reach it for us. I would like to thank for the staff everything what they did for us!!! All together, I would like to come back, at least once.

  Upgraded!

  We booked with Crystal Ski to stay in the Salzburgerhof but when we got there it had been overbooked so at checkin we were asked to move to Das Gastein. We were shown a room in the Salzburgerhof and photos of the proposed room at Das Gastein and told that it had a south facing balcony, the room was larger. We were happy to change. The room was lovely and had a good shower room and separate loo and the balcony was a nice place to sit at the end of the day. There was only one sun lounger though, in a room for two. All the meals were excellent with a great salad buffet in the evening, then soup (we didn't have this) followed by a main course and pud. The breakfast buffet was large with plenty of choice. The only let down was that the parents of the little toddlers (LOADS of them) in the hotel allowed their little darlings to run around in the aisles in the dining room and generally squeal and be a nuisance. Also, several people at breakfast and at dinner seemed to think it was OK to come into the dining room in socks but no shoes. Surely they had room in their suitcases for some indoor footwear? We would book this hotel again, alas I don't think it's one that Crystal normally offer.

  Pleasant hotel in good location

  Stayed here for 2 nights in July. Very helpful receptionist. Rooms large, comfortable, clean and well equipped with a small balcony and good views. Our friends had a room at the back of the hotel which had beautiful views of the mountain. When going for breakfast be aware that tables are reserved by room and name. Breakfast is a good selection, certainly something for everyone. A dinner menu is left on the table for people who wish to book for the evening. Hotel is perfectly situated for a walk around the small town and park. We did not have dinner in the hotel but did use the bar; excellent cocktails. The terrace at the front overlooks the garden which has sunbeds and playground equipment for children (swing, slide, football net etc) Happy to recommend this hotel for few days in the area
