Good start for day tripsIt's a small cozy hotel - a good start for daily trips. The bus stops to both sides is just outside the hotel and you can get around all Ischia using buses CD and CS. The beach is not close to hotel, you have to climb down more than 200 steps, but it's beautiful path with many plants and flowers. I don't recommend to climb upstairs - it's better to take bus No. 2 . Hotel is very clean with comfortable beds. It's very silent at nights. And it's friendly to vegetarians, you can get vegetarian and fish meal for every dinner.

Relax on vacationFriendly servises, very clean, silent hotel. Great service and dinner and service at dinner time. Delicious food, too much pasta various sauces. Termal pool inside with water massage currents. Convenient place. A city bus stops at the exit of hotel. Goat track is cose to exit too, the best way to go to Posseidon water and relax park. Or to the see side.

Great family run hotelThe staff here are fabulous. Rooms are spotless albeit basic. Breakfast poor, evening meals excellent value for money. There is no menu for lunchtime snacks but the salads are delicious. Bus stops right outside the hotel providing easy access to the island. Ideal base for exploring.

Ischia on a plate. We spent our first ever week in Ischia, staying at the Hotel Costa Citara near Forio. We have fallen in love with the island and the people.....and the food too to be honest! The hotel isn't posh but is kept lovingly clean and tidy. We didn't opt for evening meals when we booked as we wanted to keep our options open to eat out. However on the third evening we decided to give the hotel evening menu a go. There were 4 courses with 2 choices for each course. I selected the local delicacy. Ischian rabbit as my main and loved it. Every course was beautifully presented and excited both the eye and the taste buds, everything looked and tasted like it was made by the winner of MasterChef! As you can imagine we returned every night for the rest of the holiday and were never disappointed. The pool of this friendly hotel was kept spotlessly clean and it even has an additional indoor thermal pool of it's own. The staff were welcoming and we all had fun trying to speak each others language! T The room was comfortable with a large balcony and air-conditioning. The only minor gripes were our double bed was made from two singles with one slightly higher than the other, there's no brewing up facilities in the room and we had the world's smallest TV but who cares when it's all in Italian and there's so many other things to be doing. The beach is at the bottom of a steep hill which takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to, easy enough when going down hill but much better to arrange a pickup with the hotel's rather antiquated shuttle bus (free) for the return journey. The staff were very accommodating when we had to cancel one room at short notice as our son was unable to accompany us at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. The Costa Citara is situated about 30m from the road so we could here the sound of scooters whizzing by from time to time. The local bus stops right outside the hotel every 20 mins which is really cheap and convenient although insanely crowded in August, but you certainly get up close and personal with your fellow Italian travelers and experience their unique culture. These people are not at all reserved like the Brits but prefer to express themselves loudly either vocally or with their car hooters! We'll definitely return.

UnimpressedAfter travelling by air land and sea across to Ischia we were ignored by the hotel reception staff as it was not 2pm. When after a 45 minute wait we were given the key to our room. Small in size with two ill fitting beds shoved together one of which was had an extremely hard mattress the other was so old you sunk in the middle of it and were unable to turn. We tried the shower which was cold , my husband went to shower second and after about a few minutes the water completely ran out. Not to come back on for hours. The walls were paper thin so we could hear every sound from our neighbours rooms. Not pleasant. When booking the hotel I was under the impression it was in furrio town but its a good forty minute walk away.Travelling by bus wasn't pleasant they are extremely over crowded with very hot sweaty tourists and Italians alike. Ischia it's self is quite nice , just wished we had stayed somewhere a little bit better.
