  The grubbiest room of my year

  Third time I've been placed here for work trips. I'm not generally fussy but this is my last time. I didn't want to sit on the furniture its so dirty!. Desperately needs refurbishing. Last time I had dinner but thankfully the restaurant was closed when I arrived this time. Its probably cheap but... Last couple of rooms were tired but this one has the ambience of a Salvation Army thrify store... only not as clean.

  Tired

  The front desk experience was ok upon check in. I know they are trying to save costs (although the lady at the front desk assured us the hotel had been busy), but to have to find light switches in the dark to go to the public toilet is somewhat ridiculous. The room was adequate, but could do with a good overhaul. Overall, not somewhere I'd rush to stay again.

  Feeling Deceived

  The Coachman Hotel was terribly disappointing after it came highly recommended from one who has stayed often. We booked online for our family of 4 adults so needed beds for four at a busy time in the city. Having expected a high level of Hotel accommodation we had a seriously second rate motel, with sleeping for 3 in 1 room and 1 in lounge. The town was full so had no other options!

  NIce Motel good location, do not let some reviews put you off

  We were in Palmy for a wedding and ended up booking here because other family members had. Closer to the date I read some reviews and based on some of the recent ones probably wouldn't have chosen it myself because of that. We had a good experience and the reviews did not do it justice in my mind. We had room 12A which seemed a bit bigger then the normal and I would recommend it looks like it has recently been done up but retains some of the older style furniture which gives it a bit of character (Coachmen). Check in etc was good motel is a larger one so you don't get the more intimate check in you might in a small hotel (things to do recommendations etc).It has a restaurant and bar on site we had a couple of snacks/entrees from the restaurant and they were good. Good location literally two blocks from the square with lots of eating and drinking options in easy walking distance. Price was a bit below average for a motel (which initially made me wonder) but it was as good a lot of places we have stayed and better then some. Would happily stay here again and recommend room 12a.

  Very overpriced for what you get.

  I stayed at the Coachman over 10 years ago and was really impressed so I thought I would book again 10 years later. I booked by ringing and the front desk were very nice. I thought it was a bit pricey when she told me how much for the standard room but thought I remembered it being nice so I'm sure it is still of that standard. But I was very wrong. Our room was tiny and very dated. The carpet was filthy and the room smelt musty and old.When I had a shower in the dry old "shub" the water just spilled out everywhere and made a flood in the bathroom. I checked under the bed and found a dirty old shoe. I would assume when rooms are cleaned they check under beds but they obviously don't here. We parked our car underneath the hotel and I wasn't impressed with the mess at one end of the parking, old dirty mattresses piled up and an old toilet just sitting there. The hotel needs a renovation and freshened up. I was very disappointed.
