Good variety and decent entertainment for young familiesMy husband and I, together with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson and with cousins from Italy, stayed for two weeks in Santa Sabina from August 6 to 20. My husband and I were first given a small room (with a double bed) on the ground floor (room 016) with no window (just the entrance door) and no patio - it was suffocating. After loudly complaining with the Manager, we were transferred to a second floor double room (102), which was large and had a nice balcony. The only complaint is that right below our room was the entertainment area, where music and dancers went on until midnight - very loud. Many of the second floor rooms faced the pool and entertainment section. In fact, childrens entertainment didn't start until around 9:30 p.m. and then the adult portion would follow. Santa Sabina a resort geared to families, so if you're a couple with no children or an elderly couple, go somewhere else - this resort is not for you. The food, although many Italians complained about the quality, was plentiful with a decent variety of pastas and vegetables (cooked and raw). Different cuts of pork and chicken - done in different ways - seemed to be the staple. There was also a decent variety of fish cooked on the grill or baked. Once you finished your meal and left the dining room, water and everything else you wanted, was at an additional cost at the bar. The breakfast, however, left to be desired. Every day was the same thing: cereal, yogurt, two types of cold cuts, hard-boiled eggs, one type of sliced cheese, pastries, buns. There wasn't even a toaster, where one could make a toast. The coffee was the worst I've ever had! It came from a machine and tasted like chicory beans. There was a bit of a walk to reach the beach: small sandy area with your own umbrella and chair (you have to get there early or you're out of luck). The water level - small bay area follow by a rocky section - was ideal for children and they loved to explore for sea life among the rocks (bring rubber shoes). You had to swim beyond the rocky area if you really wanted a good swim. Pedal boats are free for half-hour periods. If you prefer a pool, they have an olympic-size pool and a smaller one for children. Near the beach area there are no bathroom facilities at all nor a bar to get a drink. You had to walk back to the pool area for any services - very inconvenient. There are some vending machines by the beach entrance if you're really desperate for a drink and don't want to walk the distance. There are two outdoor showers just outside the beach to rince off the sea salt and sand from your body.

Albergo bello: animazione molto deludente tranne il grande FABIOI recently returned from Santa Sabina. I must say that for the price we paid, we were very pleased. The food, room size, service, cleasiness and courtesy were above our expectations. It is run well and is an attractive and comfortable hotel. The beach is not the best but convenient and sufficient. Overall, I was very pleased. However, the "animazione" was extremely disappointing. After having experienced many Italian "villaggio" this was by FAR the WORST. The animatori seemed honestly bored and annoyed at being there. The miniclud was a poor version of a real miniclub at places like Valtur, Veratour, Settemari and Swan Tour. The miniclub had a ball, a shed and broken crayons. The girls running it seemed inexperienced and indifferent. The only bright spot was Fabio. A big shout out to FABIO!

Nice StayGood 3 * hotel, price/quality ratio adequate. Location excellent, very close to beach and city. Animation good and excursion offer very complete. Personnel very nice and helpful. Food could be better, we are in Puglia after all.... Beach and water very clean, but going to the hotel beach make sure to wear shoes in the water as there are rocks under the surface.

Very good 3 star hotel! As a family (group of about 20 of us) stayed here over August while here for a wedding. The hotel is great for the price you pay. No shortage of food in the buffet, with a good amount of various foods. The staff were friendly, happy and willing to help. The hotel would be able to make a few improves but as it still being a new-ish hotel they are doing very well. The limited wifi was the biggest inconvenience that was encountered! Would definitely recommend for families!!!

Excellent experience. Highly recommended. We had a fabulous time at the Hotel. The location is very nice - near the airport and a convenient base for day trips to the protected nature reserve of Torre Guaceto and the historic towns nearby (Ostuni/Alberobello). The food was very good and catered for a wide variety of tastes. The staff were very friendly and helped us out when we needed assistance. The pool is very nice and the beach very clean. Please bring shoes to explore the rock pools and to snorkel. The animation team were another highlight of our stay - they were all extremely friendly and paid a lot of attention with our children. Valerie and Matvey spoke excellent English and involved our children (and us) in the activities they ran. I would definitely recommend this resort for families - you will come back with fond memories.
