this place is deadApart from it being clean and warm there's not a lot going for it. The one and only lift whilst close has massive waiting times unless you're there as it opens or leaving late. Those lovely looking blinds you see on the windows were stuck down in our room and despite repeated requests for them to be fixed stayed that way , NO VIEWS. I'm easily pleased when it comes to food but a more discerning person would struggle and if like my daughter you're a vegetarian then prepare to live on bread. I could go on but I won't , however the worst thing was the lack of atmosphere. I could well believe the hotel doubles as a funeral parlour whilst were all out skiing.

Third visit and not disappointed..In an area where getting the ski bus is the norm, the Grohmann is close enough to the Col Rodella Cable car to walk. As with all ski Hotels, rooms are warm and showers hot.. Food is plentiful, good quality and very typical of this region. The Grohmann gets 5 stars for their staff. Everyone weve met has been very friendly, professional and helpful. The Hotel appears to be full and the staff work very hard, but they always have time for a smile and nothing is a problem... Will definitely be back...

Dolomiti superski GemFirst the bad things 1, nothing Now the good stuff. Wellness center. The food. The rooms The staff House keeping Excellent value for money. Top tips Turn right out of boot room for the gondola Go left for bus to canazei ( its 3 for a day ticket if you catch no2). free I think if you catch no1. Sporting 2000 just behind the hotel is about the best value ski hire i could find 80 for a brand new set 6days Area pass is probably the best value as sella ronda is a good day out but there's a lot of short ski and chair lifting. Check out Wolkenstien & selva gardenia ski areas SWEET. Lastly, dont wear your skiboots through the hotel (you know who you are) And most importantly Enjoy yourselves its great

March fresh snow skiingskied 27 miles a day. We sorted our own lift pass & ski hire on arrival (unusual for us). Hotel is good value for money. Favourites: Mushroom Tagliatelle & Tiramisu. Hotel Manager, Enza (Vincenza) hospitable, friendly, great napkin folding skills. Jessica/reception, all staff great especially Luigi/waiter who provided 5am breakfast on departure day! I was too lazy to walk even 10 mins so we were using the bus daily. Bus pass is 6 Euros per person for 6 days - it's not free, bus conductors check. Yes, be very careful with the slope from the ski room - walk slowly and hold on to the handrail. Yes, there are not enough boot warmers ! Hotel Grohmann needs to seriously improve the facilities in the ski room. We were extremely lucky to have had the final full week of skiing before the Coronavirus shutdown the following week. We skied the Marmolada glacier in bad visibility but great snow (better than a sunny day, waiting 2.5 hours then being transported away by bus instead of going up the glacier). We couldn't afford the Crystal Ski day trip so made our own way to do the following in one long day: Hidden Valley & Cinque Torri about 44 km total. Dolomiti Superski App is great. On the worst weather day, we explored the local small ski areas - uncrowded & the best powder of the week. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Not fair approach to the customersI booked hotel using booking.com 2 weeks before arrival and paid in advance. The main reason to book this hotel was the location. Upon arrival I was told that they do not have my booking in the system and have no rooms available, so they moved me to another hotel, which they promised will be same quality. In another hotel I was given really bad room and only after I said I go back to Grohmann, they changed the room to appropriate one. Although I can't prove it, I suspect they claim they have rooms available in Grohmann hotel, people book it, but upon arrival they move them to another (worse location) hotel. That is because, when I phoned to booking.com they said the system still shows they have rooms available, but it was not the case. That is why, based on my experience, this hotel deserves only 1 out of 5. Be fair with the customers!
