Very unpleasant waitersWe had dinner at Chateau Kotera but we want to let you know that the waiters are terribly unpolite and rude. We had dinner here for over 100 but the portions are very small and you have to ask the waiters every time to come to your table. Food is not bad but overpriced. Especially, the arrogance of the waiters is terrible. Don't have dinner here, there are better places to have dinner.

Nice, but could be betterWe had a nice stay, although it could be better. When we arrived, there was nobody at the reception, we rung the bell few times and waited, after about 10mins the receptionist have finally arrived. She was very lovely and smiley so weve forgotten her. Weve booked the business room and didnt realised its completely different building with no soul and very dark. We were offered another room, in the building but to pay the difference (weve been given an upgrade for free in other hotels if there were no customers, which in the Chateau was about 3 other rooms occupied judging by the cars parked outside, but never mind) The room in the main building was very spacious although we expected a bit better quality TV and sofa and it was super hot and felt like sauna as there was no air-con or fan. The shower didnt have a proper holder and you have to sit down in the bath (prob not the best option for some elderly couple travelling) The bed was comfortable. Weve decided to use the swimming pool and after checking with the reception if its still open, we walked on it already being covered up at around 6.30pm. Weve uncovered it and still used it (not heated and quite cold, but nice and refreshing - its fine once you in) When we were leaving there was a maintenance man who told us to leave it that he will then cover it back, which we appreciated. Weve decided to stay for the dinner at the Chateau. The receptionist said the kitchen closes at 9pm, so we made our way down around 8.15. The starter was nice and so was the main, although for the prices we expected it to be perfect, but somehow it wasnt. When we finished the main, we asked for the dessert menu and to our surprise the waiter told us that we cant have any as the chef has already left! It was 9.08pm and we still havent finished dining?! We were very disappointed and expressed our feelings to the waiter. Surely the chef cant leave if the customers are still eating?! He came back with the desert menu and said the kitchen staff can make us something very quickly. He stood above us, while we were trying to choose and made us feel quite uncomfortable. We had our dessert and asked for the bill very soon after that. The breakfast in the morning was good although the patio/terrace was being done up and therefore very noisy with drilling and bangs. All in all a nice stay, but could be better in the little things which counts at the end..

You get what you pay forUnfortunately this old saying you get what you pay for fits exactly this hotel. The rooms are cheap, BUT we found animal feces on our 1.5yr old blanket, mattress was very questionable, we are not able to charge the restaurant bill to our room, the rooms were not clean - a lot of dust everywhere. The outdoor pool was full of chlorine. In the garden there were wires sticking from the ground. The hotel needs renovation big time! My suggestion is to get inspired at Chateau Mcely.

For lovers of Cubist architectureThe chateau is beautifully restored and a dream to stay in. (it doesn't offer all the contemporary amenities of a high-end chain hotel, but the aesthetics is well worth it). The waiters were super polite and friendly, the food was excellent and so was the wine.

A lovely short breakWe spent 3 nights here and can't wait to go back. This is a quiet out of the way hotel but less than 50 mins from Praque. Nice grounds and a lovely pool area gives this a very relaxed atmosphere however the best thing about it is the food, some of the best I've had in a hotel and not too expensive. We would thoroughly recommend this place for couples wanting a romantic escape. The downside is the WiFi is poor but we thought that was an advantage!!
