  Nice and not stuffy

  Very nice and bright rooms (wooden parquet) without unnecessary gadgets/knick-knacks. Service attitude somewhat rustic,but friendly - remember you're in the mountain. Breakfast very basic, however very italian.

  On the slopes

  wonderful for skiiers as it is placed on the edge of the cross-country rings in the woods, and withing walking distance of down-hill slopes. Traditional wooden house, with fireplace and warm rooms and breakfast hall with stunning views over snow and mountains. Warm showers with plenty of running hot water. Garage for skies. Lockers for ski boots. Very clean. Quiet.

  Fabulous family-run hotel

  This is always my first choice when in Santa Caterina Valfurva. The owners are pleasant and always try to accommodate my needs with a personal touch. The location is close enough to the slopes and the final stop in the free ski bus, and far enough to have a quiet night. Breakfast is great, the rooms are warm and welcoming. There's parking and storage space for ski equipment. Overall an excellent hotel. Book directly with the hotel, avoid booking.com, for best prices and skipass promos.

  Average with a disappointing breakfast

  We booked a triple room for me, my partner and our friend as we were unable to find an apartment at short notice. The room on the picture looked much more spacious in the pictures than we were given in fact the 3rd bed was a sofa chair which made it difficult to get out of the patio doors. We were given no information when we were shown to our room and no credit card was taken as I'd normally expect. We liked the ski stores with boot warmers although finding the light switches was a little tricky. In fact lighting was off everywhere which I found a little dangerous in the corridor when it was dark, trying to find switches. Breakfast was a big disappointment, coffee tasted burnt, juices were very low quality, bread rolls were stale and the fresh brown bread was only put out half a small load at a time and was eaten before we could get to it. Meat and cheese was also in very short supply. Beds were comfy, location is very quite with lovely views and wifi was available free of charge with a reasonable signal. We loved Santa Caterina as a ski venue but probably wouldn't stay here if we returned.

  Clean and tidy

  Stayed in a three-person room with friends. The room was clean but small - the third bed obstructed the balcony door. The hotel staff were friendly too but speak almost no english. The breakfast was not what I expected - not quite continental, almost like a snack bar. Very close to the slopes with a free bus, also storage in the garage for people who have their own skis. If you search for this hotel online be aware not to confuse it with another nearby Hotel Cevedale!! It is very different.
