    Nice french family-style hotel

If you go to explore the Aveyron, France, don't forget to visit the beautiful villages of Espalion, Estaing, le Fel and Entraygues sur Truyere, and Hotel Cazes in Laissac is the place tot stay. It is family-owned, homey, people are very welcoming, the rooms are clean, and the food is good! From there you can also visit Conques, one of the "Most beautiful villages of France" as it says in the guide. It should be beautiful, but we decided not to go up there because you have to leave the car in a crowded parking place and you have to pay 25 euros before entering the village. A rip-off if you ever experienced one. You'd better visit Chateau DuBosc in Camjac, the birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec, worth the detour!

Great independent family-run hotel where the hosts really care about you and your stay!

Well-maintained hotel in centre of a small market-town which itself is ideally-located for visits across the Larzac / Causses / Aubrac / Rodez / rest of Aveyron for example: the local roads provided good quick access over long distances. As well as this there are lots of rural roads well-suited for quiet drives and bike rides too. Hotel has everything you need and nothing you don't need! Beds very comfortable and linen very clean and comfy. Bathroom well-appointed and again with really clean towels etc. Room spacious with very large bed and large comdy chair, ideally placed for quiet reading and with windows opposite the view over the rooftops and across the fields was far-ranging, depsite the location in the centre of an old market town. We were travelling as a party of 3 adults and had two double rooms located next to each other. This was really convenient and despite being next door to each other we could not hear sounds coming from the other room! In fact the hotel was very well sound-proofed and despite it being quite full, sleep was very quiet and just perfect. Breakfast was self-serve although the staff make ure you know where everything is and how it works, and do come and check if you are alright or if you need anything or any help to get things: they will hel you and they do bring extras if anything runs out. Bread and croissants brought to your table and you will be asked if you want more! Also muesli, cereal, home-made jams, decent coffee, other hot drinks, milk, water, yoghurts, hiney, local cheeses, local ham, fresh fruit bowl. The whole breakfast range was very broad and decent quality. We ate two evening meals at the hotel and the quality was excellent especially if you like to try local meats etc. Perhaps there would be fewer menu options for vegetarians however the owners are so caring that I am sure that if you were to ask, they would be able to prepare some really great nutritious veggie stuff too. As we were staying in lower season (October) the hotel restaurant was closed for the Saturday and Sunday evenings, however the owners asked us where we would plan to eat on those evenings and if we wanted to eat in Laissac they were able to book us in at restaurants very nearby, of our choice, if we wanted to. This was brilliant and especially as one of us had run a long race in another town, and we did not know what time we would return to Laissac on the Saturday evening, and so what time we could eat, the owners managed to get us a sort of 'floating' reservation at a very good restaurant across the road on a busy night. We were all so glad of this, and the food there was also really good. This would make a good base for a few days of exploring the wider area. We have already said that we would like to come back in the summer!

    Motorcycle stopover

I booked at 18:00 and arrived at 18:45 after a long day on my motorcycle. The owners could not have been more welcoming a secured my motorcycle behind gates ing their private driveway (other unsecured parking was available) The room was pleasant, comfortable bed and good shower Breakfast was a delight - Homemade Jams, Homemade cakes, Home cured Ham and good Coffee. The owner gave me extra cake and Ham for a mini packed lunch for my Journey All in all a great stay

    Excellent value and very friendly

Stayed here a week ago. Hotel run by same family for many generations currently 5th,6th and 7th generation working there. Take a pride in their hotel and have a genuine concern to offer good customer service accommodated our motorbike in their own garden. We paid a few extra euros for a superior room. It was bright, fresh, had comfortable bed and even had kettle and tea / coffee very unusual for French hotel. We had a very good 3 course meal for 18 euros. Would definitely stay here again if in area.
