  Very tired and dated, you can get better for less

  When I hastily booked this hotel I was guided by the price bracket and foolishly didn't check the reviews. The price bracket is misleading. This hotel should be much cheaper than it actually is. It's extremely basic, tired, dated and a bit grubby in places. It appears to have been built in the 1980s and never updated since. The whole hotel is in desperate need of a complete refurbishment and modernisation. On the plus side, the Wi-Fi was free and very fast. If you just want a bed and a hot shower this hotel is adequate, but that's all that can be said about it.

  It does the job.

  We stay in this hotel once a year on our way back to Ireland. As we travel with a dog the lake next to the hotel it perfect to walk her. The property needs a bit of TLC. The food served was ok, but in the past better. The matras needs to be replaced.

  very nice convenient stay

  Stayed one night in August after a cross channel trip and before heading to Germany via Belgium. Nice convenient location (Dunkerque can be hard to negotiate but after 18 years we are getting used to it !). Received a friendly welcome. We were located in a ground floor room at the back of the main hotel building. Nice room with en-suite, TV etc. Only slight limitation was, in our opinion, the presence of just one rather old looking dining chair in the room. My wife wanted to sit outside in the sun for a while and took this outside (other guests doing similar). Could I suggest they consider installing a bench or two in the rear grass area ? Due to getting an unexpectedly early ferry we still needed to get a main meal. We opted to use the restaurant and have to say we were so pleased with the choices available and the quality of the food served up. Two years back we stayed at two Campaniles and the food was not up to it not the case now !. We had the buffet breakfast the following morning and were very impressed with that too; both quantity and quality were good, and the chap in charge was constantly working hard to ensure all the dishes were topped up. Would definitely return, and look forward to our stay at the Calais Campanile at the end of our holiday.

  Overnight during roadtrip

  Hotel kind of American motel style. Room smelled a bit like smoke. Shower is small and walls looked a bit crumbly and room a bit dated. Room looked clean tho and beds were not great but good enough for a good one nights rest. Parking was good and the breakfast was also okay, a bit expensive 10,- exclusive tax for a few cakes, croissants coffee and chocolate breads.

  Simply The Best

  We spent a wonderful night at the Campanile Hotel and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this welcoming establishment. The staff were fabulous especially Mark in the reception a real gentleman with a first-class service attitude. The service in the restaurant was perfect as was the food.
