  Excellent , very friendly hotel. Ideal for ski-ing.

  Comfortable hotel room , lovely and clean . Heating and lots of hot water. The restaurant wad really nice with fabulous food and I was on a Gluten free diet and the Chef went out of his way to make me absolutely super dishes. All the staff from reception, maids waiter and waitresses where really friendly ,cheerful and helpful at all times.

  Great location, limited room size, average food

  Der Salzerburgerhof is at a great location in the centre of Bad Hofgastein. Ski bus stop is right outside the hotel at Kaiser-Franz Platz. Bus ride to Schlossalmbahn is 10 minutes, same time as you would have walked in normal shoes. Being at a central location, getting to shops, cafe, bars are very easy. Evening walks around the town is pleasant. The spa is around 5 minutes walk from hotel. The hotel has a restaurant (for guests staying half board, nearby apartment, and walk-in customers). Walk-in menu is different from half board. The half board evening meal normally consists of small starter, soup, main and dessert. However, there is no fresh salad on offer. The main is chosen at the start of the day during breakfast (also choose your meal time 6/8pm). Service is efficient (probably need to turn round for second/third cover). Food quality is average/good; for a hotel at this location. Breakfast has a good selection of cold cuts and cheese. A good variety bread, yoghurt and fruits. Also, there is some hot food (boiled and scrambled eggs). Good filter coffee is served from an old fashion coffee thermal pot (not the fancy way). A slightly downside is a lack of a bar/lounge area, which makes the hotel rather quiet prior to and after dinner. Rooms are generally on the small side, probably a legacy of being an old hotel in central area. Decorations and furnishing are good, adequate amount of storage, conformable beds, well presented overall. Bathroom is also small as expected. Towels are changed daily. However, beware of housekeeping might be calling in while you are having breakfast; or after you returned from skiing. Staff is polite and helpful. Bar bill is reasonable. It is a pleasant stay. Good location for skiing holiday.

  Comfortable, friendly and clean!

  Lovely friendly, comfortable, clean hotel. Situated in the centre right round the corner from the Therma Spa. Ski bus stop right outside the hotel with easy transfer to several ski area's. Being Gluten Free, I can say my dietary requirements were taken care of with bread and pasta, though I recommend reminding the staff regularly. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We spend all week wishing there was somewhere to sit in public other than the restaurant (to chill) only to find on the last day, that there is actually a chill out room on the first floor with table chairs, computer games, tv etc.... shame we didn't know about it sooner. There's a couple of bars to choose from (the one opposite the hotel being the nearest). If you're after a busy, lively, apres ski then this resort may be a tad quiet. We ventured out at night but only found quiet bars, no dancing on the table in ski boots.....That's not to say that we didn't enjoy it because we did. We took our own teenager with us, but was really pleased to say, not many kids around (bonus). Not a problem to us, but, on arrival, guests have to carry their baggage a small distance, up a gentle slope from the village square to the hotel and vice versa on departure.

  Great hotel

  Traveled with a group of friends for a weeks skiing. The hotel is in a good location with a number of bars within easy walking distance and its only a short 5 min walk to the main gondola. The hotel staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic couldnt fault it.

  Nice food

  Food and service was great and our children really liked it, so we visited twice during our one week holiday. Gentlemen cut (steak) was fried just enough and wienerschnitzel was very soft. Salad was also good but typically with lot of mayonnaise.
