  A way too big for the region, no atmosphere, but functional, clean and worth the money

  Been in Mozirje at Benda Hotel for 7 nights during an orienteering competition in July 2010. We booked the hotel in advance and didn't know a thing about it. It is situated in the outskirts of Mozirje in a part called Loke. The hotel Benda is 2 storeys high and was probably built 3-5 years ago. Looks a bit like the newly built Etap Hotels All rooms look the same, have simple furnitures, a shower and a balcony. The room 101 is slightly larger than the others, so I recommend this one, if you plan to stay. The hotel offers free WLAN Internet via 802.11n WIFI connection. From your balconies and windows you look at the surrounding mountains. The breakfast is really simple (bread, butter, jam, honey, some cheap cheese/meat, cornflakes, tea, milk and bad tasting coffee). If you ask, the staff will roast the bread for you. The staff is quite helpful and friendly-but there was not really much, how they could prove their abilities. A restaurant is included in the basement, but they couldn't provide us a menu-card. The manager said, the kitchen chef decides from evening to evening what he will prepare for dinner. We didn't like surprises so much and went for some local restaurants and the Pizzeria Afrika some 13km away. If you have a room facing the street, beware of the sink. On a rainy day, it was clogged and the smell of excrementes was everywhere :( Cleaniness is ok, no big stains in the bathroom, only small dust in the rooms and rarely spiderwebs on the ceilings-nothing to worry about. If you spend your days outside of the hotel, this place is alright to sleep at night and gather some energy for the next morning. I just wonder what people can do in Mozirje, if there is no sports/orienteering competition.

  one star is too much for this hotel

  the only positive thing is that the reception staff is very polite and the surounding is charming! I have been there for 7 nights with an organized group. It was a very bad choice done by the organizer. The room was not cleaned during all the period of stay. Even the garbage can was not empty. THE BED ARE NOT CONFORTABLE. No elevator, therefore you have to carry your baggage by yourself upstairs. they have a small bar with coffee and some drinks, but the bar tender is very rude. The breakfast is very poor with very simple and low quality ingredients. The coffee is from a machine - very low quality. the best was the water. Location is far from everything and if you need to buy or to eat outside, you have to walk 2-3 km for that. Nothind nearby. They have a restaurant but everything we have asked was missing. I cannot tell you if they have something except a sandwich (not fresh). Very basic rooms. Old tv set. Wi-fi very poor (most of the time is not connected). They are closing the front door at 22.00 and switching off the wi-fi. Never again!
