  Great base to explore northern Brittany

  The view from our top-floor bedroom across the bay to the six or so good fish restaurants on the quay was a perfect start to our 2 weeks in Brittany. Little coastal villages and beaches just to our west or cliff top rambles to our east beckoned. The host and hostess could not be faulted, and we left hoping to stay longer next year.

  Relaxing in Erquy

  We are eight adults arriving in Erquy to begin a 6-day backpacking trek along the Emerald Coast from Erquy to Cancale. Coming in July during the peak vacation season makes it difficult to reserve 4 rooms anywhere. We so not know exactly what to expect. So, we are pleasantly surprised with the Hotel Beausejour, and on several fronts. First, it is a boutique hotel with a small number of rooms. We are pleased with each of the rooms assigned to us. There is no lift, so you must carry your bags or backpacks up. No problem for us. Second, the hostess is very nice, friendly, and speaks very good english. Third, the rooms are very clean and well appointed, and the beds are very comfortable. Fourth, the breakfast setting and options are quite good. I should also add that we had a minor emergency equipment replacement need requiring a last-minute taxi. The hostess arranged this, and she ensured a fair round-trip price. Well done. The hotel is up the road from the main beach and restaurant area. If you prefer quiet, as we do, this is a good location. One caveat. While the sea view rooms on the front are very nice, if you are sensitive to noise, take a room on the back. The front rooms are close to the main road in and out of Erquy. All in all, I recommend the Hotel Beausejour to you.

  "Pass" on this hotel, and the rest of the "Logis" brand

  This hotel is very worn, has plenty of deferred maintenance and looks nothing like the pictures. I've stayed at many other "Logis" hotels and this fits in the same sad bucket. Worn. Old. Tired. Dull. Not really clean. My bathroom had a bit of that old smell. Dark afternoons. Great views of the bay, but not great light. Very nice breakfast. Quite overpriced. Not the worst ever. Very far from the best ever. Last time here and at any "Logis" brand hotels.

  Super find!

  I stayed here for one night with my mother in a twin room. The rooms are not big, but spotlessly clean and decorated in true French style which we loved! Breakfast , served in a room overlooking the sea was very good with crepes cooked to order and delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Five minutes walk down to the beach and plenty of private parking. I would definitely stay here again.

  Very bad manners

  This hotel, to be honest, would also be advisable, if it were not for the attitude and the way of the owner, who complains to the guest that he has booked on Hotels.com instead of on the hotel website; that protests if the guest pays with a credit card; who invites the guest who goes to have breakfast to wait, who must tell him something, and then complain that the guest has booked a second night on Hotels.com (paying 20 less than what he offered); which claims to charge 5 for each sachet of tea that the guest uses to prepare the tea to take away in a thermos. All seasoned with rude and insolent ways ... I think there is no reason to say that anyone should avoid being a guest in such a place ...
