Felt like homeThe chalet is a really nice place to stay with some really delicious food to offer and a spacious spa with a hot tub and 2 saunas. Super amazing and friendly staff, helped us with EVERYTHING we needed from transportation, food, to any personal needs and advice. They were especially caring towards every guest. I only wish there were hot water kettles in the rooms and a safe as it would be nice to keep the passports in there while we went snowboarding. I can't complement this place enough, just stay there and see for yourself. Close to both Le Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, there is free shuttle service to both places, however they do terminate early so if you want to go out after 6pm or come back later, you will have to take a taxi or drive yourself. The blankets used can feel a bit itchy if you aren't completely covered with the cotton sheet underneath. But the beds themselves are comfortable.

In our opinion this is a 2 star apartment which we wouldn't use againFamily of five with a dog staying in the self-catering apartment (mesange) in St-Jean and skiing in La-Clusaz. Cost approx 1000e. Good points - clean, warm, great views, good facilities (toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, cutlery etc.), ok beds, garage to store ski equipment. Negative points - customer service (we were pointed to our apartment rather than shown around as one example I can offer, there wasn't a warm welcome here), no sofa bed as advertised (we had 3 chairs with the springs gone), advertised as "would suit a couple with 3 to 4 children" when there is two doubles and one single bed, apartment wasn't "comfortable" mainly sitting on dining chairs and at a table, wifi didn't reach the apartment and I believe was per single device only, spa was usually heavy booked with limited spaces available (although we understand one family had booked for the entire morning so not sure how the rules worked), steep walk to the hotel (bear in mind if you have children or older folks carrying skis and walking in ski boots etc.), heated swimming pool not open in the winter (doesn't clearly state that on the website). Personally would classify this as a 2 star apartment. Would we stay at this hotel again, one word answer - no. One other tip, if skiing in La Clusaz and staying in St-Jean remember that although the shuttle is free between the towns, it can be over subscribed at peak times meaning either you are standing around for long period of time or be prepared for a scrum to get on the bus. There is no organised queuing it is literally a free for all.

Hidden Gem of a hotel just outside La ClusazThe Hotel Beau Site is a charming hotel in Saint Jean de Sixt, just 3 km outside La Clusaz ski resort. As a family of 5, we had 2 rooms on the top floor which were clean and warm with comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, balconies and fantastic views over the valleys and surrounding mountains. The hotel is run by 2 brothers Frederick who is front of house and his brother who is a fantastic chef. All staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The dining room has superb views over the valley and breakfast consists of freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit and yoghurt, cereals, coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc. fresh bread with cheese and salami, croissants, pan au chocolat and also homemade jam which was delicious. Evening meals consisted of 4 courses example menu meatloaf with pistachio (great), duck (superb), a cheese course followed by desert. The 3 deserts we had during our stay were the best deserts we have ever had (I dont even have a sweet tooth). There is a cosy bar, a lounge and a boot room. Its less than a 5 minute walk to the bust stop near the church and when we stayed the times to Clusaz were 9:40 and 10:10 and then on the half hour. The ski bus took 5 minutes to get into Clusaz followed by a short walk to the slopes (2 or 3 minutes). A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay the food was excellent.

3 star worthy hotel. We stayed as a family at Hotel Beau Site, reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive but Frederick and the team did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay. We had two rooms, a four berth and a twin. One room 16 had beautiful views and sun came in all day and the little veranda was perfect, my daughter and her boyfriend had room 15, view was obscured and a little dark, no bath, just shower. The problem with this room it backed onto the dinning room and the noise of moving tables and chairs till late in the evening became a tad annoying but not enough to complain. The rooms were cleaned every day and no problems at all. No cleaning on New Years Day but got to give them a rest some time, although the option was there to request which I thought was very good. Beds and linen were clean crisp and very comfortable, we asked for two pillows and we were given two. The spa was amazing especially after skiing all day and it was controlled well by Frederick to make sure only a max of 10 were in at any given time. You just needed to book in advance. Only really a few issues for us and they werent really the hotels fault. We had booked half board, with very fussy children, 9 year, two 15 year olds and a 16 year old vegetarian. Frederick had tried to help on many occasions but the food was too posh for the kids. The food was amazing, not keen on every menu but the chef was obviously very skilled. A childrens menu or vegetarian option would have been an Advantage but as I said they did try. Lesson learnt we are not booking half board again, anywhere! The main issue for us was actually not the hotel but the location, its a 10 minute walk with skis down to the bus stop every day and worst when you are exhausted 10 minute walk home. The bus is packed, the route up to the resort was stop and start and took a considerable time. Maybe the New Year break is just too busy. But then once you get off the bus its another 10 minute walk each way to the resort lift. There is meant to be a shuttle bus but it just didnt work! We averaged 10,000 steps everyday on top of the skiing so just felt exhausted. Especially walking in ski boots and with skis etc. We couldnt get a locker at the base either. The resort thou is amazing, so much so that we have booked to come back in April but this time we have booked in la Clusaz, we would have stayed here again but just felt that the ski bus was too much hassle and wanted the vibe of la Clusaz in the evening as well. Thank you Frederick and your team for an amazing stay.

Great stayReally nice and cosy hotel with a great spa. The host Frederic does a great job keeping everbody happy. It's 2,5 km from La Clusaz a great local ski area, so if you want to live by the slopes this is not it, but if you are ready to use 15 min on a ski bus this is a little heaven
